Hiya folks!

Newbie questions here ... HELP!

Just got my car and the stereo's buttons seem to be dead. I heard that this is a chronic problem with the factory tape decks of that era (1990).. Is this true? I'm want to put an aftermarket cd player in. does anyone have any recommendations as to brand or type? I am interested in changing out the speakers and also adding Bass in the trunk... Are there any issues w/ wiring in these cars?

Thanx guys:ylsuper

uh dude, i dont know what you're thinkin but all CD players do NOT sound the same! no way in hell!If youre lookin to kinda kep it cheap, i would go with an alpine, Clarion, Blaupunkt, or a NICE pioneer.those have nice quality sound and most have built in EQs

My roomy is sellin his alpine head (CDA 7862) for $250

I agree that there is a difference in sound quality between different cd players, but I also realize that to equip the vehicle to the point where you can hear that difference is probably a bit more expensive than simply buying a deck.

My most important concern is actually with skip protection. I am planning to modify the suspension soon (got questions bout that too!!! ;-), and I worry that with a stiffer ride, some decks might not be able to take the jolts. Is there any particular brand that is good for this application (preferably on the cheaper end of the scale)? Thanx!
