i have a leak coming from the passenger side axle where it meets the transmission of my 03 maxima GLE and was wondering how hard it was to actually remove the seal. is it pressed in? can you pry it out easily?

any further details would be much appreciated!

Hey ok finally did the flush and the drain I didnt have time to do it myself or the expertise. I took it to INFINITI, They said the transmission is good but I need to change both axle seals, and the return hose line for the power steering. I declined to do the seal change and hose by INF and decided to take the car to a mechanic that I can afford, especially now since I know what the problem is. INF wanted to charge me $241 for the seal change (both) and the $160 to change the hose line (too much).... anyway I am glad the transmission is good and everything should be good.... I wanted to ask you how to change the front o2 sensor (before catalyc) because I ordered that this week, and I dont know how to install it... do you have a diagram or anything for me learn it...

I appreciate all of your help!!Thanks

sorry to be a pest but let me ask you when infiniti drained and flushed the fluids for me they reset the car I guess and the Service engine light is gone.... how long before it comes back? and should I wait for it come back on, before installing the new one just to make sure that its still faultyand that it wasnt just the wiring?

Thanks alot

hey scott,

Changed the seal today car is driving better. I still need to change the return line for power steering and this week I'll be getting the o2 sensor which I will change as well. The mechanic said that the rack pinion might be leaking alittle. do you think thats an issue I should be concerned about!!!?

Thanks

There's no telling how long before the light comes back on.

Unless it's a severe leak, I wouldn't worry about it.
