First of all, I'm Chris and I just joined this forum today. I took my g/f to Infiniti of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach and she purchased a Lakeshore slate coupe with Sirius radio, Premium package and Intelligent key. We got it for $34,443 plus tax and administrators fee. I was just wondering if you all think that is a good deal? I researched quite a bit before we went and it seemed pretty good. We want to change the rims to 18's and keep the same size tire and rim all the way around. We originally wanted 19's with staggered wheel sizes but figured it would be costly in the long run. Would 18's with 245/40 be alright?? thanks for any comments and suggestions. (sorry for no pic...I dont how to do that yet)

Hey Chris, welcome aboard!

Lakeshore Slate is THE sexiest color on a G IMO.

You did good at 34K.

Swapping the 19's should be an easy deal - Find a local G owner with 18's and offer a trade (plus some cash from them) as the 19's are very popular.

Glad to have you aboard, let us now if there's anything we can help with!

Go 19's you will be very happy. Off set can be expensive I am on my second set since June of 2004 but I am a little, just a little more conservative this time around. A lot has to do with how you drive of course and the composite you choose. A softer tire will wear out longer then a harder tire although not as fun to ride on. I have Toyo proxies T1R's and they are a very good mixture which will last longer then many comparable tires. Speak with a repidable tire dealer and you will be able to get a good off set tires and your ride will be the better for it. I think the G was designed for off set look, just look at all the cars with the offset and see for your self.

Ps. Welcome to the club you will find this is a great sight if you haven't already.

my name is Chris too. Congrats on the ride. I think you did really good on that price, I was able to negotiate mine to 35,600 from the MSRP of 38,280 (premium, aero, and Sirrius packages).

Your right about the wheels, they are very expensive, when they were trying to sell me the tire and wheel package, they showed me the cost of ONE rim, and it was over $1000. didn't get the tire and wheel package, because it really doesn't cover anything. I bought it for the TL back in '04, and when I ended up with some curb rash, they wouldn't cover it. I ended up getting the wheel repaired for 100 bucks.

Yesterday, I looked at my G35 rim and almost fainted when I thought I saw rust on it. But thankfully it was just some dried up mud.

BTW: If you want to post pics, you can go to a place like Photobucket and set up a free account. Then all you have to do is upload your pics to your account and just post the IMG link directly in the message.
