Just bought an S14

I just bought a 97 S14 :ylsuper and I’m trying to figure out if it's an SE or not, I’m almost sure it's not but I’m kind of confused, it says SE on the back plus in carfax it appears as a 240SX "SE/LE" but it has the 15 inch 4 lug rims, no LSD or ABS, no SE spoiler, no cruise control, etc. Also does anyone know the link of that website with all the info and dynos from SCC's project 240SX (NOT PROJECT SILVIA), I remember I saw it a few months ago but I lost the link.

Congrats, beautiful car. Sounds like it's not an SE though, weird that the carfax and actual features would be conflicting though.

yea tell me about it, very confusing, i'm thinking that is an LE with no options and the previeus owner got an SE badge.

Look up the history on DMV. CARFAX will pay a maximum of the purchase price of the Vehicle. In other words if DMV says its an SE and has no features like you bought and carfax say it does, they will pay for that car.

Dont bother, it looks like a base model, looks like you have hubcaps from the pic. If you dont have cruise or tilt wheel, those are tell tale signs of a base model.

Btw, carfax sometimes doesnt make a distinction between models unless its a change in engine or something as major IE, GS-R compared to an LS/GS integra.

yep, those are hubcups on steel rims, no tilt or cruise, so that means it's a base, what's the difference betwen the base and LE?

LE has the Mash wheel, 4 Lug, but I think it come with everything other then ABS, LSD. But as I know of it come with Leather.

Or in another way think of it has a base SE without 5 lug but jave Leather!

LE is a higher model than an SE, an LE basically has what an SE has but with leather

Okay thanks for clearing that up, one last question, i saw a couple of s14s a while ago that had rear winshield wiper but i think that they where AUS SPEC or J SPEC s14s, so does anyone know where to get these?

Read that carfax report carefully. I believe it says "240sx/SE/LE", meaning 240sx base, 240sx SE, or 240sx LE.

The definitive way Ive found to recognize an SE model is the variable intermittent wipers. SE's (and I guess LE's) have it. Base models either have 2spd intermittent or just hi/low wipers.

I just scoured the SCC site and there isn't a project 240. They have a Datsun 510, 200sx 1.6L, Silvia, 300zx TT and a 350Z. You're also out of luck at NissanPerformanceMag.com............just s13's.......NA and SR.

yea my wipers are 2 speed, it does have p/windows but no p/locks, so i'm pretty sure it's base model, it doesn't really matter that much anyway, i still like it, i only wish it was 5 lug and had LSD but that can be fixed.jeansguy. thanks for looking but i alredy found it, well sort of, i couldn't find the all the info and stuff but i found the dyno charts.Here's the link in case you want to look at itBTW. what's the 0-60 for a stock S14 auto? i can only find the #s for manual cars.Thanks.
