Just bought a blue Versa today. Went to the dealership just to look and ended up driving a new car off the lot!

Traded in an 07 Chevy Colorado, which was a great vehicle but way more than I needed. My note goes down more than $100 and I'm sure gas and insurance will be way cheaper so I'm super-happy with the car.

On top of the savings I just love the look and feel of the car. It's sporty while still being practical and cheap transportation and you have to love the versatility of the hatchback.

Looking forward to learning more about these cars as I definitely have some mods planned for the future.

congratulations on your purchase! What trim level did you go with Base, S, or SL?

Also welcome to the forum there are a lot of helpful threads on modding your new V.

It's an S. Only difference I could tell between the S and SL was the transmission and wheels. I was planning on some aftermarket rims anyway and the transmission wasn't worth the price bump to me.

I want to pick up a set of rims, a little spoiler (nothing gaudy, something nice and tasteful), maybe an exhaust. I'm tinting the windows tomorrow.

Welcome.

Most people find they want some of the SL upgrades on the interior. If you search you'll see some of them available.

Good luck with the car.

Oh I forgot to mention: my car is onyx blue. According to the pamphlet the salesman gave me, only the sedan comes on that color, but it's right there on the order form: hatchback, onyx blue. Weird.

In 2007 sapphire blue and onyx blue were options for both sedans and hatches that year.

For the 2009 hatchback, they got rid of Onyx Blue and Sapphire Blue was renamed to Metallic Blue.

Well, all I can say is that my 09 hatch is definitely Onyx blue. Maybe one slipped through somehow but there's no doubt about it.

I will post pics tomorrow after tinting is done. I am looking around at Tire Rack right now and when I get my money for the unused warranty on my old vehicle I'm going to order a wheel and tire package.

Nissan's website says it's Metallic Blue for 2009 hatchback. They are both the same color.

What kind of rims you looking at and the size?

Not sure about the wheels. I see several things on Tire Rack I like but nothing really jumps out at me as being "the one".

I want something in a 5-spoke, 16-inch and NOT black. I know black rims are all the rage now but I hate that look.

I like the rims on the black car on this site's main page. They look like the Enkei EV5 but Tire Rack only shows "hyper black" and "bronze" finishes for that wheel.

Also dig the American Racing Estrella but they only have them in the 15X7.

16" looks too close to original size... If you're getting rims, for the looks yet keeping a comfortable ride then 17s is the choice... If you're going purely for looks which in this case I doubt you are, then it would be 18 and above...

And your best bet of finding the rims that you'd really like would probably be to go to a few rims shops and check out what they got.

I want 16's so I can go with a bigger sidewall tire. I don't like those little rubber band tires. Had them on my Colorado and they were awful. We have rough streets in my city and I don't want my teeth rattled all the time.

I suggest getting 17" rims then. It's a great balance for style but doesn't sacrifice enough to ruin the comfort of the ride. The 16" rims are practically the same as 15", not much of a benefit.
