hey guys, i was just wondering what is the best size for the 15 oem 240sx wheels?

*should i get the original tire size? 205/65/15*should i go smaller...? i mean the smallest 205/50/15

or is it possible that i could get a bigger size tire like 215 or 225?

also, what would be the idea spacer to get the oem wheel to aline with the fender walls?

could you guys help me out on which is best

It all depens on what your future plans are. If you're staying with stock body, no overfenders, no flares than go with stock tire size too, or like you said maybe 215's. For the spacers I would have to say go with 20mm or higher to make it flush.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

Never seen that. From factory they never had a staggered setup.

I believe that SE Wheels came from the factory with 205s and the steelies came with 195s.

That doesn't mean that you should have staggered setup. I think it just shows original tire sizes like Crazyirish mentioned.

^Yep. Steelies were 195 and alloys were 205. 215 would be the largest I'd go with on the alloys, and that's probably pushing it a little.

Would take a 20-25mm spacer to get those wheels close to the fenders.

The Verts came with 205/60r15 in an H-rating. You can fit 225/50r15 on stock rims, but the rim is waaaay to narrow and it WILL cause irregular tire wear. I ran this size a little while on mine. I always joked with the guys in my shop that if they saw sidewall scrubbing, that the side mirror would be missing. The tires always looked flat, but they weren't. Best way to describe it is the complete opposite of stretched look. Believe it or not the car handled really well with that combo ( I did run reinforced casings though - the old BFG Euro TA's for anyone in the know). I didn't realize that someone would actually pay money for those rims (I have 4 collecting dust in my garage).

Whatever tires you decide on look at the Load index (that number after the size). You need a minimum of an 86H. This number refers to the weight the tire carries at 29 psi. If you have access to load index tables you can play some more with sizing and pressures to keep the combination safe.

Good luck

OEM wheels are all good, but you might want to save up and think about other options. Some of cheaper options are you can do 5-lug swap and use s14 SE wheels. I've always liked them. Or buy R33 wheels from eBay. I also put wide tires and spacers when I had OEM wheels, but thinking back, it was not worth it. My 2 cents...

I agree 100%. S14 SE wheels look great on S13's, as well as R32 and R33 wheels. Think that is the next big buy I do, 5 lug swap and wheels. Good luck with your wheels. Keep us posted.

edit: Here is a link to some R32 wheels for sale on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories
