Hi, I just bought a 1998 240sx 5spd. It is pretty much stock and in good condition. And here is something I feel wrong with the car: everytime when I come out from my garage, or approaching to a stop at a very low speed, I heard some very obvious sounds from outside the exterior (possibly in the front). I'm not sure how to describe the sound, but it is similar to when you jump on your bed and it is the squeak sound you can hear. And it comes out when I step on the brake at a very low speed, and also when I turn my steering wheel while the car is stopping. I have not hear this when I driving on the freeway and hitting bumps. Other than that and some normal panel squeak, the car is solid and quiet all the time. I got suggestions from my friends that the shocks (at the front) might be blown.

Also, everytime I do a U-turn (low speed of cuz), I heard loud sound from the rear. It almost sounds like a mechanical grinding, and also there is tire spinning in the back, so I assume it is normal since I have 1.5 LSD and that is the sound of it while operating?

Hmmm.. I have no experience on any of them, please give me some ideas which maybe I can fix it by myself. Thanks.

First off, why bump only 3 hours from initial post. Only to bump again in the morning. The NOM does not move as fast as 240sx general. Just because it moves down half way down the first page does not justify a bump. Your problem is not everyone's #1 priority.

Now that's taken care of, have you checked out your tension rod bushings?
