check it out, i just bought a 96 nissan 240 sx se from a guy i know in tennessee and as the title states, im all new to nissans and im not afraid to admit it, ive done a pretty good bit of research on the car and my options and others opinions, my car has the KA24DET .... sweet ride, already turbo'd and all that good stuff, but i need to know what you guys think i should do with it??? im looking to make about 500 HP and possibly around 400 lbs. ft torque somewhere in those numbers...i know that my car has a full exhaust system, looks like 2 1/2-3 inch stainless piping all the way back, cant see a cat, under the hood it has some type of aftermarket headers w/ a top mount turbo flange, looks like they may have been there a while, they have been heated very hot before, they have that glaze on em from being red hot at one point in their life.... front mount i/c, bov, battery relocated to the trunk, msd ignition.... and maybe a few other things i dont know about right now, it does have a safc-II in the cab, with a custom mounted 3 gauge pod built into the area where the passenger airbag used to be, pops up and down for discreetness and already has a boost/vacuum gauge...let me know what you think

i do believe you just a bought a track car

the title maybe salvaged

and technically, if no bags, and they were deployed in a wreck, it has to have the bags back in and a rebuilt title before he can sell

or, he cannot sell at all

you need to check for an LSDIf there is an LSD in it, its probably a track car and its been drifted. Make sure the setup as far as tie rods/ and suspension arms are not cracked or busted

Good find, there wasn't to many 96's made, congrats!

if you have a KA-T boosting 9psi, the car was made for a Daily Driver. If it is boosting well over 9psi, then its for track

If you want to daily the car, get a tune and slap it on 9psi, if not, then boost the **** out of it. But if you do, you better hope he built it up, then slapped a turbo on, if not, you'll pay the price for anything boosted over 9psi

yeah the guy said he took it to the track one time, something about he used it for a daily driver, its set right at 8-9 psi right now i believe, i havent really got underneath the hood yet to look at anything on it, it runs perfectly fine... yes it was wrecked before, when i bought the car, he passed on the reciepts to the fram shop that did the frame work and all the other repair reciepts..... as far as i know this car is frickin awesome, i used to drive a crappy lil 95 neon 5 spd. with a 2.0l dohc swap, though it was dope until i got my 240 sx... but i know im not the only person that has had that happen to him.... the passenger side airbag cover is still there, and when the guages are hidden, there is no way of possilby telling that the airbag is not there, the air bag light in the dash has either been removed or been put on a closed loop to keep the light off and the drivers bag is there, he said the bags were not deployed though, it was just a low speed drifting accident to the left and right rear 1/4's which has all been fixed and straightened out now so its no worries to me, i want a a very dependable daily driver with enough umph to get after them f body camaro's & trans am's and give a damn good run for there money

We can't tell you what to do without knowing what you have. Injectors, turbo info, manifold info tuning info etc. Then we'll need your budget and whether or not the car will be built by you.

Also, takes pics.

Please use grammar in this forum.

Welcome to Nico man...sounds like a good buy...if you didn't pay much for it that is.

i gave 2950 for it and the guy drove it over 100 miles to deliver it to me personally, turbo spools up really nicely and everything, i believe that it is a good buy but i could be wrong, like i said im all virgin to the nissans , but that will soon change

Can you give us a list of whats been done to it, and what parts are on it?

Regardless, you got a great deal theres no debating that. A running ka-t in a zenki for 3 is a great freaken buy.
