just bought a 89 240sx fastback with mods.. some ?'s about it

black nissan 240sx 89 fastbackmanual 5 speed146,000 miles on itfull racing exhaust no cat17" 5zigen rims ngk wiressuspension not sure what it is but by looking its got aftermarket suspensionhks supermegaflow intake system

extras-sr20 5 speed transmission, stock s20 turbo(needs to be rebuilt), stock sr20 ignition, extra taillights

i got all this for 500 bucks locally no body rust nothing plysicly wrong with it and it runs/drives driven a couple times.. it has no seats in it either so i got a rigged mazda mx6 seat in there for now.

problems with it-no seats, burns oil badly, really rough at low rpms in reverse and first gear, leaks oil out the headgasket

what do you guys think the problem could be? how much to fix it? is it worth it to get the sr20 or ka swap? where should i get one of those, should i just get a engine rebuild and how much would that cost? also does anyone have stock or racing seats that will fit it?

it sounds like your losing compression. Engine - rebuild ka or swap? That will depend on how much you want to spend how you want it to perform. If you just want it to run like stock. You can get that engine rebuild for around $12O0. You will have to de-install and install the engine. For your seat, good luck. The stock seat sit so low that you will have to pay big bucks to get a decent looking one in their. Other wise your leg would hit your steering wheel and it would feel so ackward. I would go to a junk yard and find a decent one

so junkyard for seats? waht about racing seats? i decided im gonna do the ka or ka-t swap and put in a lsd. now to find this stuff will be fun. thanks. i dont want it to perform stock plus its single cam.. so i want the ka swap. thanks
