Just Bought a 300zx Z32 : ECU CODE problem. HELP! Headache!

Howdy Nismo peeps,

I just bought a 1990 300zx (non Turbo) 5-speed.(vg30de) 2 days ago.

Today at noon, I drove the car and hit a few nice Corners, and the Check Engine light came ON.

1. Car ran like crap afterwards. Probably (safe Mode) activated2. Did a "Jumper" Code check. It had Code 51. (Injector Circuit)3. I washed the engine bay (GUNKED it out)and sprayed water on it. (bad Mistake, I had water in the Spark plug Hole. Dang!)4. Sucked out all that water, (stupid Coil plugs didn't seal)5. NOW I have CODES: 51 and 34 ! OMFG!

Code 51: Injector Circuit, Code: 34: Detenation (knock) senso

***Some of the Injector Connectors and the Coolant temp. Sensor is missing the Squarish Metal clips, and or is Broken. (Snap on- Connectors fragile= broken)

How can I get rid of THESE CODES?

What are the COMMON causes? Recommended Priorities to Look at?

Please HELP! I need to REGISTER and Smog it...AH!

Well, you could either have a bad connection or harness, of one of your injectors could be out. Ohm the injectors and see if they are all in spec.

You can pick up a new set of plugs for i think it was 50 bucks. That is a dealer price. I had a hook up at one and ended up getting them for 27 bucks but i think you can get them cheaper from a store. If your plugs are lose that is a big problem. So change that and i dont know about the knock sensor, but you should dry it out all the way. The car might be running bad because of the water too.

Okay,

I took off all the intake manifold and valve covers, egr, etc.

Bought New:

1. NGK Iridiums2. Knock Sensor (Det sensor) 3. Gaskets

**** I think one of the injector is BAD. (Inject #6 looks like it's worn out, shows the following characteristics: You guys think it's bad? I want a second opinion.

** must i replace 1 or ALL injectors? (since it's a lot of work to get To).

* In addition, All of the Injector CONNECTORS are either Broken or brittle. Can I is there a way to get NEW ones? or Retrofit? Almost all the Engine bay's plug connectors are old and brittle. !!!! ah!

You should have just tried cleaning and drying out the connections first.

I know. Should have just cleaned the connectors.

Now it has turned into a Major Engine overhaul.

1. new det sensor($70 on ebay,$120 at ETY parts, $163 and $202 at dealer)

2. new det sensor Subharness ($55 at Universal City Nissan Dealer)

3. new Injectors $65 each for Reconditioned. $130 eac for NEW

4. new Coil Packs ($80 each) x 6 = $480
