so I just bought a 240 for $250. It's a 91 LE auto with a blown head gasket, possibly cracked/warped head, due to overheating. The interior is in great shape, and the exterior is in decent shape. no damage or dings rear of the front fenders, and only minor dings/paint chips on the fenders and bumper. Anyways, I need ideas of what to do with this thing. Most of my money is in my car (92 coupe with ca going in), so something relatively cheap. By cheap, I mean in the less than $2k range, total. This doesn't have to be done in a hurry, so I have plenty of time to source parts. My 240 is almost running again, I'm driving my parent's beater truck right now, and I'll get a new company truck on monday or tuesday, so I don't need this as any kind of daily driver. Basically, what would you do if you got a car like that, but didn't want to pay for another sr/ca swap? turbo ka? one of those ca18et/ca18de/ca20 hybrid setups?

ca20 hybrid is definately aplus but all the fabrication would pretty much comedown to getting an rb 25 that youcan build the crap out of it. ahh just thought of the rb30...... would be a good project.

rb25det, gutted interior from front seats back, cage, s15 nose, wide rear quarters, 18x10's on the back, 18x8s on the front, bright red with 2 red bride seats, and a seude steering wheel and sequential shifter. i guess that a little more than you want to spend, but thats what i would do. budgets are too restricting

wait, you want something less then 2 grand or did i read that wrong? If thats the case, then get a newer KA24de with fewer miles, then get a few mods with the lefto voer money. Anything else isn;t really feasible for that type of budget.

CA18DE built up with good cams, high comp. pistons, and some headers? maybe some ITB's :) Start with a pulsar motor, they're cheap (or you can find N/A Silvia motors too... I got a CA18DE RWD Silvia motor for $250) and use the transmission out of a 200sx (the one with the CA18ET)...

Thats what I'd try, I mean you already have a turbo CA, now build a fast n/a one:D

Yeah, I agree with NeedCA...Plus, I have a non turbo ca18de from a silvia also and I'm going to build that thing into a bulletproof all motor monster...Some day anyway.
