Just bought a 2006 5AT coupe (Need tires) Low noise please!

I have wanted a G35 for several years and finally the deal hit me. Just bought a 2006 G35 coupe 5AT with premium, Aero and Sport tuned packages. It has 19" Forged steel wheels and I need to buy tires. It has Bridgestone Potenzas currently. 225-40-19 FR, 245-4019 Rear. I hear alot of road noise when slowing down between 20-25mph. I want tires that will eliminate some of that and give a little more comfortable ride, but not lose too much of the performance. Does anyone have any suggestions? I also don't want to spend a fortune. I know, this asking alot! Also, can you go with 245-40-19's all around?

Welcome to the forum. You're going to love your G. You're also going to find a ton of opinions on tires, but you specifically ashed for low noise. I'd take a look at Yokohama Avids. I don't have them on my G, but I've had them in the past and they were quiet and lasted. That's my opinion, there will be many more to follow.

I used to have the same size of tire as you on my 19inch wheels. I now have 245/35/19 front, and 275/35/19 rear.

recently put Yoko Avids on my wife's G and they are doing great so far.Also, put two on the front on daughter's 00 Max SE and she loves them especially compared to the Falken 512's that were SO LOUD!!!

Have Potenza RE750's on the cobra and also like these. Great for dry/wet, but no good in snow!!

General Exclaim UHP, They are rated #1 on tirerack.com for their catagory of UHP. I had them on my lexus and they made the ride quite but most of all it was like i was glued to the ground. Even in a bad FLA downpoor, I could still drive 70-80MPH on the interstate with out any hydroplaning.

275 30 ZR 19 and 245 35 ZR 19

130 bux for the 245's and 152 bux for the 275's

These are a little wider than the stocks but will fit and look the best.

I think most NICO members would agree that on the 19's the 245 front and 275 rear is very nice and would or have chosen to go with those sizes regardless of tire that you purchase!

Take a look around tirerack.com with those sizes 245 35 19 or 245 40 19, 275 35 19 or 275 30 19. The Generals only come in the 245 35 and 275 30

Tirerack has the best deals plus they even tell you where to take the tires so that you can get them installed.

Welcome to Nico!! the Falken 512's that were SO LOUD!!!

They are not making them anymore. They improved the process and it is called 912 instead of 512. Still heavy but not loud anymore. Also they made it undirectional if I remember right. So you can rotate them in any way.

seriously, i have 16k on my michelin pilots and wow, ive never been in a car so annoyingly loud. ill be watching this thread...
