Just bought a 05' Murano and am looking for help with a noise?

We just bought an 05' with 48,000 miles on it. We have had it one week and everything has been great, however today we were on the interstate and occassionally it seemed as the engine was surging. It seemed to happen most of the time when the vehicle was set on cruise. No lights came on and the vehicle continue to run it would just seem to jerk slightly or surge. I am just wondering if anyone has a similar problem or can tell me if this is nothing to worry about.

My 04 with 62K miles has no surges. Sounds like it could be power train related, so I'd take it to your nearest Nissan dealer while the warranty is still in effect (till 60K, if I remember right). Good luck.

Some people have noticed that its just the unconventional characteristics of CVT operation under load. Since is a completely variable system, it's not set in one speed. However you say it jerks slightly or surges. And apparently while its hot. I've seen that once before just before the throttle chamber failed. Its a simple fix, if it ends up being the issue.
