Havent been on this website for over 5 or so years. I was previously on here as J30ondubs and still have my J30 and is still flawless ...well at least trannny and engine at over 190k and still running. But it was giving me bad back problems from the low seating.

So recently i was just blessed with owning one of the greatest driving experiences to date which is my newly owned 2005 Q45 with only 19k miles purchased at 41k total.

Looking through alot of websites I've been wanting to get a kit for it...either the Auto Couture kit or the Impul and I have no idea how to get it or even the cost. I also plan on getting some 22's and want to know opionions on getting such a big wheel on this car and if there is any known issues or modifications that need to be done before putting them on.

Look forward to everyone's response.

Bruce

Thanks...i appreciate that

I think I remember your name from years back...did u ever have a J? But anyway Jesda, I believe its just the standard one. It did come with nav and back up camera. Did not have the rear sunshade or climate controlled seats or rear seats that heat up or recline. Otherwise I love the car...defintely big upgrade form a J30

Cogratulations on the 2005 F50 (Premium?)!

I personally wouldn't want to cripple it with heavy 20" wheels or increase rotational mass as OEM brake rotors are too thin. But neither would I want it to look like a late Buick Park Avenue by adding the President grille.

I guess, in order, I would go for:

1.) Extended Infiniti certified warranty from the dealer

2.) Wider lighter forged 18" wheels and tires to match

3.) Brembo or AP big brake upgrade to take care of thin rotor warping problems.

Congrats on the purchase! 22" wheels will look ridiculous. The President grille etc. won't look right unless the car is bone stock with it, it's black and has dark tint, then it just looks like some ambassadors car. All the kits you mention look great, and none of them look right with anything larger than 20" wheels. I would look at WORK or Amistad for some really nice 19 or 20" wheels. Forget about 18's, they look too small. Here's one of my favorite F50's, it's on 19" Brabus wheels, they look proportionally perfect, 22's would look like I said above, ridiculous:

Nice Ride!

Have to agree with Maxnix. That President grill is ugly and has Buick all over it. I bet there are more folks in Japan wanting to switch to your look than the opposite.

Congratulations on your new purchase. The car looks great. I just some 2005 Q45 listings on ebay and the tail lights look different. I was wondering why? Is your car a 2004 or 2005?

Uhhhhh.....

I think the picture he has in his original post is of a kit that he is considering.

I don't think that's the actual car that he bought.

I agree with Falkdesings....

Take a look at some of the F50s on cardomain.com. The 20" and 22" wheels look ridiculous

I'm still trying to figure out which kit to get for my car. I like the image in Falkdesign's post. I like everything but the window treatments. I always thought those things were only allowed on your grandparent's car.

Dro, those window treatments are on there because in Japan, it rains allot, and many people smoke, so this way they can leave the windows down a bit for ventilation and not get wet. I would never put them on as a style accessory though, only if I smoked and lived in a rainy climate.

Okay....

Thanks for the clarification. So, don't smoke or live where it rains much....

I should move to SoCal...

Congrats on your new ride. I have to guess that the first photo is NOT, your car rather how you would like for your car to look.

I am in agreement with bits and pieces of what the guys have already said.

An extended warranty to 100k or so sounds really good. DEFINITELY NO 22s. I think your car will look way out of proportion. As long as your wheel wells are filled, 18s or 19s I think is the way to go.The President grill .... I'm sorry but I think it looks hideous. Enjoy your ride and keep us up to date, also remember ....pics lots of pics.

THanks for everyone's responses....after taking into consideration and looking at the PResident's grill, it does seem to remind me of a Buick. I've seen a few of 20's on them and they just look to small IMO. I guess maybe when I get a kit it would look more proportionate.

And to answer the questions...no that picture is not my car. I have a desert platinum color with the LED tailights. I'll take some pics today and post later after work.

Thanks for sharing that picture of the one on the magazine...LOOKS FABULOS.. you know what kit that is?

so here's the one with 22's.... not my type of wheels but it doesnt look 4x4 either. My only concern is the suspension components...if i do go up to 22's I will defintely upgrade the brakes, possibly to brembo's.

Yeah, that just looks plain stupid!!!! Sorry man.

Your car is really nice, and that look would just kill it. When you get a kit AND lower the car, 19's or 20's will look PERFECT. Hell, just lowering it and running NICE, staggared offset wheels alone will look a million times better than that.

Please do not bastardize a perfect VIPcar platform by DUBin it out. 22's belong on cadi's and H2's, not High-class Q45's. Just look at it. Its an eyesore.

I would run some 19's or even 20's at most and put it on air suspension. But of course this all IMHO.

In my opinion, this black F50 with the 22" wheels is the perfect example of what NOT to do such a nice car.

I would not be surprised if there is a large, Infiniti logo stuck on to the back windshield and the interior has fake Louis Vuitton pleather stretched all around it.

Please do your new car justice and make enhancements to improve the ride and looks, not cheapen the image of the car.

Just my 2 cents...

Not a bad start for a choice in wheels...

I've always favored silver, hyper-black, or hyper-silver wheels on silver / platinum colored cars.

In my opinion, there are very few cars that look good with chrome wheels. But when running on chromes, I prefer white or black cars and the occassionaly Ferrari red...

im actually opting out of chrome... chrome is a thing of the old and was a fad like spinning wheels...its all about the polished silver now

My other choice are these. But i dont know the price yet so I think these are out of range...being from auto couture and all.
