I just bought a 1990 Q45 with 150k on it for 1100$.What should I do in all of your expert opinions?I was thinking intake and exaust?or possibly brakes.

It has bad tires so I know before I even get it home im going to need to get some new ones.Let me know what you think

Thinking about doing the president as well.Panda garage which is about 20 minutes from my house has one for 1200.But Im not sure yet.

any input would be greatly appreciated.

Secure a 5-7 thousand dollar line of credit to return mechanicals to near new operating condition and for the inevitable parts failures.

Uhm, I don't think your car has spark plug wires, it's coil on plug. You might want to read some of the stickies at the top of forum to find out about recommended maintenance items.

What Qship96 meant to say is you will need at least $5K in your cash kitty to come close to restoring it as a safe runner.

Body shop will add $1,200.

maintenance first and the fact that you didn't know this already is cause for concern. the g50 (90-93 particularly) has a high cost of restoration/maintenance/preventative maintenance. my labor/parts total was $6.5k, with ~$5500 of that being under hood. no mods, no fun stuff, just maintenance.

i'm not one of these guys who thinks it's stupid to mod a q (you'll see what i'm talking about) but i am definitely one of the guys who thinks it's stupid to mod a q that hasn't had the proper maintenance done first. last thing you want to do is spend a couple thousand on modifications only to have a catastrophic failure the next day and no money left to fix it.

I know you didn't. Especially once you find out how much it cost to replace the chain guides. Ask the previous owner if that has been done or get your VIN number and take it to your nearest Infiniti dealer to see if they have any records of that job being done. If not, you are about to spend some $$$ on that alone.

Most who don't visit here first, read a lot of the previous posts, the FSM, and the how to buy a Q45 sticky above don't either.
