New owner of an 09 Black G37Xs, fully loaded, Sport Package, Premium Package, Navigation, Aerodynamics package, and midnight black grill. bought it with 20k miles. I was searching for a while to find a 09 or 10 black Xs under 30k miles and finally one popped up with everything that I wanted. I have owned it for a couple days now and love it, It reminds me of my old turbo charged Maxima, very fun to drive. Only the G is not only fun to drive but very luxurious as well.

First question, I have read that the R2C intake is one of the better ones on the market, but when comparing it to the K&N intake is there really a big difference?, only reason I ask is I can get the K&N intakes at cost through my company and the price I can get it at is significantly cheaper than the R2C. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with K&N and if their claims of a +14 Whp reliable?

K&N hp claims are relatively BS in my opinion. I am assuming you are talking about the K&N panel filters for the stock intakes, right? I'm running them in the sedan and notice nothing.

R2C intakes do the best at filtering without impacting airflow. You can get the filters and keep the factory mid-pipe or you can replace the whole system. Hell, just replacing the mid-pipes will give some ponies as it smooths out the turbulence caused by the factory accordion piping. They look pretty good too and don't require cutting like the Stillen gen-3's do.

Here is a NICO article that discusses K&N: http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.html
Here is a install how-to for the R2C's: http://www.infinitig37.com/r2c-intake-install.html

My lil R2C's:

Best pricing will probably be through tunerzstore.com

I was actually trying to compare it to the K&N Typhoon intake, they do post a Dyno of the intake on their site but it was taken from the 370, so I wasn't sure if there is much difference. I will have to find an AWD Dyno in Northern Colorado and do a test to see if their claims are true or not. I went ahead and order the Typhoon intake as I figured even if the difference is only 1-2 hp the money I would save on the K&N is worth that. I will try and do a before and after dyno of the intake if I can find an AWD one close by.

I have the R2C and love it! Paid around $400 and installed it myself. Makes the car sound 100% better!

Good part of a K&N is that it's reusable. But, you have to deal with cleaning and oiling the filter and doing it without ruining the MAF. R2C is a dry filter and simply needs to be blown out. Much safer for the vehicle.

I've never used the Typhoon, first look it's a similarly protected SRI so the main difference would be filtration.
