Hi I know google and search is my friend and I found the basics for the M35

Cai
exhaust
bumper mods
nav hack
uprev

Well my questions i havent found:
I have not found many image library for rims on the M35. Tirerack was limited? Any out there?
With the nav hack can I play my ipad into the video screen?
is the 5/16 spacer an east self install? I am mechanically inclined
Any owners with Twilight Blue and light Wheat interiors (tips ideas hints?)
DO they sell premade modded headlights for the M35 like the do for the G35?
are they easy to swap yourself or need to pull front end off?
what is this about wider muffler or exhaust rerouting?

MY Deal:
I was seriously narrowed down and set on a 2006 GS300. I liked the style luxury and the great MPG reviews of 27-34+ I always loved the G35 series engine and sportiness of the car but the MPG horror stories scared me away. Well after weeks of research and test drives. I found the Lexus was nice outside but man the back was so cramped and trunk small and the 06 dash was boring. The car drove super smooth and quiet but had NO soul. Plus then I felt on this used car hints of possible failures since there are so many technical nannies in car.

I drove the G35 and great but not too much bigger then my civic si 4 door for practical space versus the cost and gas mpg hit. SO I said hey let me trade in my toy car too. 1988 300ZX Turbo full restored and clean and my 07 civic si seda both cars had 90k miles and were both immaculate.

well 2 days later I got a great deal on an 07 M35 Twilight blue M35 with nav, backup camera heated/cooled seats and tan/wheat interior with red wood trim. 45k miles. Great deal and trade value and I am paying $100 less then my civic si LOL

I am so stoked here are my plans:

Black Vinyl wrap the roof to protect paint and give that black roof look.
ztube/k&n
headlight grill mod/paint
nav hack
rims
local muffler shop new muffler and tips
then maybe uprev/spacer

welcome to the forum, youll find so much great stuff around here i assure you.

As for rims, I dont know of any image libraries but you can always use the search feature and try searches like "new rims" or "wheel pics" etc to pull up pictures of members wheels. You could also try posting pics of the wheels you are considering getting and a pic of your car and ask the guys to photoshop it for you. That will help give you a rough idea of what they will look like.

There are not any pre-modded headlights available so if you want a big change you will have to take them off, bake them in the oven to heat the glue and open them up. do what mods you want and then reverse. To me that sounded like a terrible idea so i just painted mine for a tint look during the day. You can search the oven baking as it has been done and seemed to turn out nicely. You can always buy sport headlights if you dont have them for like $2500 from the dealership or about $1000 used on ebay. Again, not an option in my book. good luck and really use the search feature because once you get used to it (kinda of a crappy design if you ask me) you will find lots of helpful topics and dyi's.

thanks yeah this forum HTML is really wack. doesnt allow me to click through for browsed tabs or spell checks. Weird it is the site too not my browser. Yeah I figure the sport route or DYI for the lights. I could do that but down time sucks.

I will look for the rims then probably go to local shop for possible fitting before i buy.

Thanks

you can buy pre-modded headlights for the M--check out clearcorners.com...although they are prohibitively expensive, albeit quite impressive. you have to take off the front to swap them out, so figure installation cost too if you don't have the time nor inclination to do so.

Welcome jjcuff1 !!! nice job on getting the car YOU wanted!!! you'll enjoy every bit of it...

as far as the mods...I find modding our cars is relatively inexpensive -- compared to modding German cars LOL...

also search the 'classifieds' as you'll come-up on some good deals...I know blanco is selling wheels...check him out.

where you located?? I'm in southern Cali so if you need some assistance, let me know...

If you want to see a gallery of M's with wheels your best bet is cardomain. As for finding good deals check out other forums classified section from either g35driver, myg37 and club lexus they all have our bolt pattern just need to make sure to not get low offsets. As for playing you Ipad you might need to jailbreak it in order to turn on the tv out to display videos or tracks on the screen. Not 100% sure since I don't own an ipad.

Thanks for the tips.

Any reviews or comments on the Uprev with just CAI for the M35? Is it noticable differance in sound? performance? increase MPG?

the Uprev will definately help...as far as the CAI -- I honestly feel you may "lose" power...I have a K&N drop in and it's fine (I posted my experience with Uprev and my prior mods) just search...

since getting an upgraded exhaust system, I will be going back for a re-tune (once my other intake mods arrive)...

Yeah I do not need to go crazy more for sound and looks. I am thinking dropin (maybe ztube help with sound?)
Megan axle back looks good for $300 and uprev and call it a day

Then I already have appointment to get rims. My boy owns a wheel shop so I am getting hooked up go with 20" probably

Then maybe do a vinyl wrap black roof and something with headlights, do I tint rear tails or swap for sport LED versions?

OK I was thinking on the 07 non sport I had the same tails BUT they were not LED in the circle? And the sport had the LED circle lights. I will find out here in about an hour :)

Ztube wont change sound at all. I first changed mine, cuz I thought that huge resonator thing was too quiet... sound difference was negligible... I'd go high flow cats and no muffs myself. Biggest choke point on the vq is the cats, everything else is seriously minor...

But, shy away from intakes, cai, ram, etc. if ya really want performance, stock intake is the best to go with, maybe thro in a k&n for good measure... for sound the jwt pop from a 350, with a maf adapter sounds killer, fujita aint to bad either... spacer is real easy... and looks nice, could also do an upper plenum if ur felling froggy...

Fujita ram air, kinetx manifold, blox 1/2" spacer to compensate for the pretty ram air:

Def tune er tho! Cleans everything up.

Led tailights are boss...

So spacer cai etc other then sound negligible not worth it. Makes sense I can believe seat of pants is there but real return on street hmmm.

I like the Megan exhaust for looks and a tune n rims

The the stock 8 speaker sucks big time is it a simple 6.5" swap on the 4 doors?

Then I guess I can mount any shallow mount 8 or 10" in the rear deck and take a simple line out adapter off rear speaker and run an amp to the sub?

I know hi jack

And rims I'm looking at 18" to kee my new rubber and not have to drop the car since I have yet to see 20 on a m35 that look ok without being dropped which I am avoiding for ride quality

Spacer is worth it... 5/8" or more... but cai if you are looking for performance is a crap shoot imo.

Not too savvy on sound stuff, but I have heard problems with people replacing parts of the stereo and not the whole thing if you have Bose... I'd research heavily.

18"s are a great harmony between performance and looks, i support you on that one... even tho, stance is everything

Thanks well I just ordered 18"x8 snetterton's from TSW hyper silver and I will reuse my brand new stock tires. Out the door shipped and installed on my car (swapping my tires) for $800 or $200 per whell I cannot beat that. Would have been $400+ per wheel if I did 19 or 20 easy plus then the some spacers and maybe springs.

now I have money for the space/exhaust ;)
