Damn... Went out for Sat morning drive and came back home. I was installing NGK blue spark plug wires and noticed coolant on top of radiator. It was a slow leak, but keep building up. I think my stock radiator finally went bad. I guess it's time for Koyo rad upgrade. I wish I replaced it already when I did water pump and thermostat last time. Man... I have to take everything out AGAIN.

That sucks! Well I hope you get a new radiator soon so you can keep driving your 240 vert!

s14 radiator is a cheap upgrade. it requires slight modification of the lower bump-stops and of the upper brackets. s14 radiator is thicker than the s13 version and keeps things looking stock. just a thought.

exactly what i did when the upper end tank of my S13 radiator busted. It works nice and costs a fraction of a koyo

Just recalled, you are still AT right? If so the koyo wouln't have the AT cooler on the bottom portion, so you'd have to run an aftermarket cooler of some kind.

Good point! But, I already took care of it. I put a transmission oil cooler in front of AC condensor long time ago, so I don't have to worry about it.

Thanks for the input guys. I've searched around and found cheapest price on Koyo. It was from http://www.jazzproparts.com and guess what? The shop was local, so I dropped by there yesterday and ordered one. They gave me unbelievable deal (price is too low to post ), so I couldn't resist. I also ran into some Wanted ads for used/new KA Koyo radiators while I was searching, so I figured I can sell it later w/no problem if I go for SR or something in the future. I'm going to start taking apart front area tonight. Luckily, I have a couple of more front suspension parts to install...

I did some research on electric fan upgrade to get rid of stock clutch fan and found out some good info.

Every thread talking about electric fans had this link. Altima dual fan was the best.http://home.satx.rr.com/nissan...t.htm

Altima fan is fairly cheap.http://www.frsport.com/Nissan_....html

This is another popular fan which is FAL(Flex-A-Lite) dual, but it's more expensive.http://www.frsport.com/Flex_A_....html

This makes wiring and controlling much easier.http://www.frsport.com/DIF_Dua....html

Well, I decided to keep the stock fans for now. If my electric fan goes bad or clutch fan cracks then I'll do this upgrade later. Talked to Koyo rad and they said KA radiator will bolt on perfect without any trimming on shroud or fan.

I really like the Altima fans on my coupe. But the stock electric fan will do fine even without the clutch fan.

Really? Can I just remove it? I know throttle response is better without it. I live in TX and it's about 100 here now.

It was way cheaper than that. It was my very first deal with them, so they gave me a real good deal.

I never had a problem, the stock ele fan cuts on around 210 degrees and kept mine cool. I only upgraded for the future of boost.

For your reference, my koyo with altima fans:

biggie, thanks for the pic. What I meant was... Can I just use only stock electric fan without clutch fan? I would think not.

I've heard only good things about Altima e-fan. It must be the best fan out there for 240s.

Yeah, that's what my reply was about, I used the stock ele fan for a year or so without the clutch fan, then used it a few months on the Koyo without clutch fan, everything was fine.

A lot of people just remove the clutch fan.

I finally finished Koyo radiator installation on my vert. Wow!!! It's a tight fit, but everything looks perfect. I'm very impressed. It's a top notch quality aftermarket radiator. I didn't have to do any trim or cut for the shroud. Everything that came out went back in with no problem. To do that, I had to remove clutch fan. Installation was much easier once the clutch fan was removed. I have to bleed tomorrow.
