hi i just purchased a 03 g35 with 80,000 miles the car is immaculate but did have a sel light on when i bought it after i got the car home i noticed the rich smell of fuel when the car was running as if it were running rich but my mechanic says it had a lean code im not really sure this is my first problem , while addressing the sel i have 4 codes p0138,p0158,p1148,p1276 i had just brought it in for an inspection and a full tune up, plug wires and filter, the car is having a misfire at idle, a slight one you can hear through the exhaust at idle and when sitting in the car, the mechanic cleared the codes because he said he cleaned the mass air flow, and o2 sensors, he said the light is off and see if it stays off, well 5 minutes after that discussion i drove away and the car actually drove worse then when the sel light was on, the rpm's were at 500 and it felt hesitant and then the sel light came back on and now with the sel light on i feel as if the car is running better then when the mechanic cleared the codes, what is causing my car to drive like this should i also consider maybe their is something wrong with a coil? like i said i just want to enjoy my g35 but already im starting to worry as if this could be a difficult reoccurring problem, if theirs any suggestions to what i should buy and what i should do it would be greatly appreciated thank you for reading my post

Well first, welcome to NICO! The first generation G35s have a light that is always on; the REV light. But that's different than the SEL.

These cars do have a picky throttle body that could be throwing a code... Lets see what our techs come up with.

P0138 and P0158 are issues with heated Oxygen Sensor 2. P1148 and P1276 is an issue with A/F sensor 1.

I would start with replacing the O2 sensor and see if that cures the problem.
