I just got back from the tuner and noticed some things I am not sure of. When my car is in HI boost mode (17 lbs) under load in 4th or 5th gear hitting high boost going up a hill it will kick a CEL -- which is excessive knock. When I checked the handheld it said 91 knocks on the ticker. It does not do it every time only under certain load situations. I am wondering if it is a bad spot in the data table or maybe the sandwich plate I am using for the oil prssure sender. Something is reading vibrations into the motor. It does not lose power and I notice no detonation. Anyone using the apexi power fc and knows it please answer.

My guess is:

1) theres almost zero margin on the fuel or timing map.2) not enough timing is being pulled for temps over 80C.3) your intercooler is getting heat soaked.4) a CEL on the power fc can also indicate overboost, or injector duty limit.

Easiest way to determine whether its timing or not is to go into idle/timing settings and back it off 1 or 2 degrees (which will back it across the board) and do the same pull. If knock disappears then you have to fix the timing map in the problem region.

There are other things that will set of the CEL on the FC, such as airflow limit, and injector duty cycle. But if your reading a 91 on the knock sensot thats pretty high, it could be soemthing mimicking knock but anything over 60 is considered dangerous. Check your timing maps and turn off your injector warning and airflow warning. Also your said you were having some oil pressure issues? I know for a fact that lifter tap is almost the exact same frequncey as knock. If you losing oil pressure and you lifters can't get enough oil the hydo lifters will begin to tap , and mimic knock on the PFC and cutting your CEL on. Just a thought.

It could be a sensitivity issue. I am going to run it low boost for a while and try some different gas until I can figure it out. I never heard any pinging or anything and it did not lose power.

Thinking it is

1. Gas difference tuned on exxon super premium and currently running shell v power 93

2. picking up other things than knock

3. bad spot in the map that does not pulling timing enough

It only does it on interstate in 4th and 5th gear pulls running to 17lbs on my gt2871r
