Well, I've decided to go a completely different path with my 720 (if I get it back, that is). At first I just wanted to slam it to the ground, but I figured that's not too practical for my daily use. Gravel parking lots, dirt roads, and giant speed bumps at work = big no no. So, I've decided to give it a little lift and put some nice rims/tires on it, while staying cheap. I was thinking a torsion bar/block lift of no more than 3", 15x7 rims (probably Cragars), and some decent off-road tires. Yes, it's 2WD though. After all, I do tend to go off-road every now and then, and I'm tired of taking chances at getting stuck. Any input?

Small off-road style tires would be some 215/75r15's. Then there are the 235's. Above that there is 30x9.5, 31x10.5, and so on. My stock D21 4x4 can handle 31x10.5's and turn lock to lock with no rubbing, your 2wd cannot. Even 235's may be pushing it, but they might work.

There are 28 inch tires (like BFG all terrain) for 14 inch rims, but they are an oddball size, and 215's or 235/75 r15's are also 28 inches tall.

Would the 215's or 235's work after the lift?

After looking around for a little bit, I found some 225/75r15's. Would those fit after 2-3" of lift?

Yeah man, go for it! I'm gonna build mine into something like that, once I fix all the problems first haha.

are you lifting it from stock... or lifting it from being slammed?

mine is lowered close to 3" in the front from stock and i run 225/50/15 on a 15x7 wheel with -6 offset with no rubbing

my old tires (soon to go back on for street use actually) are 225/60/15 and have slight rub under full lock turning but nothing bad

He's looking at 225/75. Thats where the problem lies. He has to have lift from the original height. Not much but some lift.

I'm lifting it around 3" or so from stock height.

flinterman is right... you'll need just a tad bit of lift to fit a 225/75

how do you plan on lifting the rear? blocks will lower it.... in order to raise it you'll need to get the leafs above the axle rather than below

My cousin's taking care of it, once I get it back. He's a suspension and exhaust specialists, with a bagged S-10 laying frame on 22's and a bagged 2500 dually.

Just put a body lift on it if you're only going for tire fitment.

It's still just an idea, not definite. I may slam it to the ground and just use the Z71 for off-roading

Flipin the diff is a little tricky. You have to consider the brake lines and cables, and the drain plug if something happens.

If I do end up going that way, it's not going to be a little overnight job, and I don't intend for it to be. I'm going to take my time with professional help and constantly double check so my truck doesn't end up in another shop for over three months.
