Not much of an upgrade, but I have a GPS I use regularly, and an MP3 player I use all the time, but got tired of running the plugs to the center console.

Here is a side view of the fuse block. I added the black ground wire as seen, simply an easy access point. You can just see the fuse I added for these sockets at the bottom of the pic. I added a new fuse next to the accessory fuses in the empty slot. I used a mini fuse tap (available at Pep Boys, or online) to add the circuit.

Here is a shot of the socket I added on the driver's right. It is completely behind the dash and bolted to one of the rails under there. For perspective you can see the heater outlet at the lower left of the pic.

This one is clearly the one on the far left. I just screwed the bracket into the side moulding. This one is quite convenient for my GPS (which I mount on the lower left side of the windshield.)

Anyway, this project was fairly quick and pretty easy, but adds quite a bit of convenience to my car.

No worry of kicking the one by your left foot? Would be a lot cleaner to hard wire the cable into the fuse box for your GPS and then have the other end sticking out on the corner of the dash or something.

Great idea, but not a great placement IMO. At least clean up the wiring with some wire loom or something.

I did consider that when placing the left socket. It is close to where my foot rests, but I don't seem to bump it while driving, so it isn't in the way so far. If it becomes a problem I can move it pretty easily.

As for the dangling wires, I'll loom them out of the way when I run the wiring for the amp I'm putting in the back. Regardless, they are not at all visible from any normal angle in the car, so appearance isn't a problem. In fact you pretty much have to stick your head under the dash to see any of what I did.

I just have a 3 socket box with a 5 volt USB charger port underneath the whole dash (below the A/C controls) held on by the awesome 3M doublesided tape. The grey stuff with red covering. Not the white stuff.

Looks nice! I just recently added a four-port block that I got from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/LENMAR-S...=8-10). It's a little too bulky to put under the glovebox or above the drink holder like I had originally planned. I found a happy medium though and screwed it into the center console area on the passenger side. It's in a good spot where it doesn't get bumped and it's easily accessible if I need to plug in more accessories. I installed the bracket for the port sideways so you can slide the entire thing forward or backward according to how the seat needs to be adjusted.
