Seems to me they charged around $600 for both.

Dude! Those are sick! (Quoting the guys at Soundwerks when I stopped by in my "newly shod w/17s" Q to get a replacement MB Quart speaker for my Subibbin). But seriously, they are WAY better than the others you had... especially w/Quella's "glowing" paint.

Not to add to the debate (especially since black is my favorite car color), but in the bright arizona sun that quartz pearl color really rocks-- so deep there doesn't seem to be any bottom-- your eyes just get caught in the vortex.

PLUS Wes, contrary to Indy, PHX has almost no dirt to mess up light paint-- seems to stay clean for weeks with occasional "dusting"-- My beige sand pearl Q seems to "look" clean even after 3-4 weeks of AZ driving.

AND once you have experienced the pain of 145 degrees brought on by a black or other dark color sitting in 110 degree summer sun... well then any light color (even generic white) ain't so bad.

No question-- Hitman has put together a great combo for a Valley of the Sun Q... shiney ivory paint and chrome...

If wasn't in AZ, black would have been my #1 choice. :)

They LOOK nice, what's the width? And will you go just slightly wider on the back when you replace them (all too soon)?

I like my black, but I'd take AZ's IPQ or Jeff Williams grey any day of the week.

8" rim width.

I will be going wider (tire width) upon replacement... Limited choices THIS go-round. :(

I thought stock maxed out at 7.5".

Anyway, chrome and Quella go together nicely. Black is nice, especially for hearses and old rolers, but the Ivory Quartz with the Natural interior is far more interesting and a visual delight to live with.

M and Q 18's are 7.5", and are aftermarket chromed.

Q premiums are intended for chrome from the get-go and are 8".

Thanks. Didn't know that. All I've seen are the 7.5" take offs.

I think it's because the package costs extra from the start, buyers are less likely to buy a Premium and THEN swap out the rims.

Plus, it's a rare package - I know none of the Q's we sold while I was in the biz were Premiums.

Uh, I know I've been MIA, but the title of the thread includes the phrase "... more pics on the way", what's the chance we can get some more of the gorgeous IPQ in the light of day :D.

Wouldn't these have been nice.

AXHitman I am glad the rims went to good use they look great on your car. We were biding agenst each other on them and the phone rang as the biding ended. I wanted them fo my 99, I have the bright silver now but the chrome looked so good i could not resist.

Nice upgrade on the wheels! Looks sweet. I assume you needed to buy new tires to go with them due to different wheel size? I'd be interested in what choice you made for the 18's. Baby M is gonna new shoes pretty soon, and I'm not looking forward to it.

Did you ever get your boat running? We need to catch up. Do the lunch thang or sumthin. Call or email when you get a minute.

So you're saying that the IPQ makes the car look like it's a giant toilet? And a feminine toilet at that.

Oh NO!!!

Just so you know, we have a little rule here at NICO - We don't bid against each other. Sorry about that!

We have a thread at the top of this forum where you can enter your ebay ID.

I'm glad you showed up on the forum, it's great to have another Y33 owner on the boards!!! Check out "falkdesigns", he has a sweet 99, and make sure to post up pics of yours!!!

Welcome to NICO!

Russ - I went with (easy, y'all) Cooper Zeons all the way around. There were NO 255/40/18's in the entire state, and I really wanted to have the new rims on for the SCO Nights show, so i took some 245/40's. Z-rated, with a 97 load rating, and so far they're nice. But hell, ALL tires are nice when they're new. The price was phenomenal, so I'm not terribly optimistic that they will WOW me. But so far, they're performing well.

Boat got hauled to an undisclosed location (i.e. dumped) as I got sick of looking at it.

I'll rent or borrow one, I can't afford to maintain NICO, BRM and a boat. :)

When I only get 8 months and 8K miles out of a set, I don't care what the name on the sidewall is.

Besides, the Yokohamas sucked, the Michelins developed a seperation on the sidewall, and the Falkens wore out like they were made of PlayDoh (not that this is a bad thing).

They're sticky, they required 1/4 of an oz on each to balance, and they're a 97 rating. Not sure what else would make them better.

Like I said, they may suck - I won't know until I get the first 1K miles on them.

If the price is right, 8k could be a good deal. 1/4 oz is good uniformity. Didn't know the Falkens were so sticky, or were they vaporized by the new differential? :pface

LOL - Falkens were just soft (160). And I'm not gentle on them.

Keep in mind the asphalt here reaches 180 degrees.

So hot that cars w/o ABS can literally hydroplane (skid) on a thin layer of wet tar. Believe it or not.

This paint color is unearthly. Beautiful car.Greg, inspite I hate chrome these are good for Quella. Because she's got nice chromed handles :)

I second that, heavy chrome handles.

Has anyone compared the density of the chrome handles on a 1st gen to a 3rd?

1st gen hands down.

Yeah, I was looking at a new QX56 at the dealer, and was appalled that it had plastic pull handles. I think the FX does also.

What a faux pull to have plastic at this point of contact with the user! I bet a lot of people immediately close the door and head over to Lexus.

Agreed.

Have you seen the interior door pulls on the QX56? Sweetness.
