i was wondering how the CA is supposed to pull, with mine, it just seems to make more noise than actually pull you along after about 5k-5.5k ish rpm. i know power on this engine drops off after 6 somewhere, but is it supposed to be like this? i dropped in a new fuel pump finally and it made a world of difference, but that hasnt quite fixed it. what does everyone else's CA pull like? mine drops off in every gear too, its not just specific to one. all help, as usual, is greatly appreciated.

mine, when it was running great, would be a slight bit sluggish till 2500rpm, then it was off like a bat out of hell breaking loose the tires even in 4th, and it didnt stop pulling till i shifted up in the 72-7500rpms. it luved da boost, and it loved 10 and 12 psi up in the 5-7k rpm range, on a good day it would bust loose in a 2nd and 3rd gear pull, it had a lil torque after my exhaust install

hm, so would you think there could be something wrong with the car since it doesnt like to pull up higher? did the sound of the engine change significantly after about 5 to 5.5k rpm also? mine seems to snarl up to 5k, i can feel each of the cylinders firing and it just tears me a new one, but after that it doesnt really accelerate too much anymore and it makes a really loud creepy kinda vtec honda noise. thats the best i can explain it. oh, and id love to break the tires loose but the stock clutch isnt up to the task of the power that CA makes. it just slips and smells bad and the car bounces off the limiter (dont know what it does with this newer ecu, i dont know if it even has a limiter anymore). my tires also dont like to let go easily, ive got falken azenis sports and they stick like glue, making it even harder on my poor clutch. cant wait till christmas, ill be gettingmy car lots of presents. back on topic, if you do think i have a problem, what is it and how should i spend all of my money (aka. fix it, which usually does take all my money).

But check your timing.... if it is a bit sluggish it's too retarded. I am running a bit retarded to save the motor until the FMIC comes.

i keep a close watch on all of that, as the engine has failed me many times. timing is set as the fsm says it should, checked it last week. maybe it does pull and im just paranoid as nothing has happened to it recently, as it damn well should have. ok, please, just give me a big ticket item to buy to "fix" this little problem. ive got 500 dollars that needs to be cleaned out before christmas. im freaking out because i dont have an excuse to work on my car. hks camshafts maybe?

its your ECU . i think its over programed for your set up, do me a huge favor...... open up your ECu and see if you can remove the 28pin chip in it might be socketed . if you can i bet its set up for 440's or larger and a bigger maf, or the maps are alterd, if thats the case ill send you a stock chip just email me your adress and ill burn one off for you tomorrow or thursday, and have it to you by like sat or monday. at no charge .

also try setting your timming to 16-17 dbtc instead of 15, paul movingviolation once told me the CA can run 20deg with no prob lemn but i run 16-18 cause 15 and it acts like crap

joe , joel( guy that wired up your dash plug) just picked up a GT3040 for his supra, i think it would be over laggy on a CA but hes not sure he wants it so maybe for a SR or ca guy, its brandnew got maybe 100miles if that, on it .

hey, if he wants to unload it for an even $500, ill be on it like oprah on a chicken wing. i do believe your right about the over programmed thing, i dont think it was near as sooty when i had the old ecu on. i still have no idea what this ecu is programed for. ive got the old ecu, so theres no need to send me a chip, although i may need to get one for the old ecu if i plan on making some real power (might not though, im clueless as to this ecu's tune). theres only one solution, ill go buy some 440's from a skyline on ebay and place my order for the stuff my dad actually agreed i should get for the car (spec stage 3 clutch, hks metal head gasket, 2.75in downpipe and test pipe and a greddy profec b II boost controller). got a question for you, can you make me a 70mm downpipe and test pipe in one? it just has to be made of mild steel, im in alabama, the thing will NEVER rust, and how much would it run me if you can indeed make me one?

tim, go to a junk yard or let me ask my supra guys, i can get you a set of 440s for like 50 shippd no doubt,

also , ill look into the test pipe and down pipe one peice, i have to get a few down pipes made soon since im sellin my trust peice, and want to go with my own design, right now im running a trust into a down pipe back exhaust, we made my exhaust go from muffler to down pipe in a two peice design, one of these days ill take it off and show you guys a picture of it,

what kinda exhaust you using??

ive got the uber expensive stainless nismo weldina exhaust, cost me a good $1200 but i had to have it. haha, i hate myself sometimes. i only have a cat and you cant hear it from inside the car! its really quiet and was well worth the money i do believe.

if you could get me some 440's for 50 dollars it would be awesome. since im going to be basically pulling the engine to do all of this stuff to it, (do i haveto pull the engine to drop the transmission? if not, which way is easier?) my dad and i figure we might as well get all this stuff out of the way at the same time. i dont know what i should do about a turbo, if i should bother with a new one or not, mine is a brand new ca18 t25 (spent way too much to get it rebuilt, new compressor and turbine wheels, new bearings and a new turbine housing, yeesh.) and it has a warranty, yes, thats right, i break it they fix it. id like to put down 300whp at high boost, and i know that lil' guy wont come close. however, ive only got 500 bucks right now, and i dont think that will change before all this stuff goes on. wouldnt happen to have a hks gt2540 lying around would you? haha. thanks for the help, i really appreciate it.

ok, thanks a lot, sorry it took so long to respond, but ive been gone all weekend (in more ways than one, heh.) see trigger's "need one more part" thread to see why. if he is planning on having this turbo around christmas, i might be able to scrounge money like a madman and afford it. i looove the sound of something that massive, even if i wont be able to use it effectively. what do you think the ca would spool that at? 6k rpm or higher? i think i can handle about 8k rpm with that swat ecu (no idea, just a guess?). set the boost around 20psi and go to town on those pesky ricemobiles that seem to infest my little southern city. got a story here, someone might find it amusing, and it should allow you to realize the patheticness of so many "import drivers" in my town. i was at the bank, going in to check my account balance to see if i can afford things, like gas and food. as i am pulling into the parking lot, i see 2 guys standing by a beat up stock 86ish honda accord. i thought they looked funny because they were trying to look so cool and stuff, but i just shrugged and pulled into a parking spot and got out of the car. as i did so, a girl in a 98ish dodge neon pulls up at about 100mph. the 2 guys walk over and talk to her, i laughed and went in. when i came out of the bank it dawned on me that the guys were planning on BUYING this car. i gave it a once-over and noticed it had a short ram intake, an extremely ricey exhaust, lots of neon and l.e.d.'s and some cheap looking 17x7 wheels. as far as i could see, all the guys cared about was, and i quote, "duz it come wit the rimz?" i laughed and got in my car to leave. as i was about to start the car, i hear the girl say "itll go though" and revs the piss out of it while in neutral. it made some horrid buzzing noise at about 160db and backfired about 20 times when she let off the gas. i laughed out loud and told them to "listen to this". as i was leaving i revved it up in 1st and let it blow off, they had this absolutely priceless stupified expression on their faces as i pulled out of the parking lot and drove home. did i mention i love my car? haha.
