hey, im gonna cut to the chase. ive been running 93 octane in my CA i think thats the correct fuel but im unsure because the car stutters. the stuttering may also be happening due to a bad coil on the number 2 cylinder, i accidently got a little water on it and it doesnt fire some times when i try to accelerate and makes the car shake. i just installed a boost gauge and come to find out the kid who owned it before me somehow has it running 12psi on a t25 without a boost controller or vacuum knob (homecheepooo) lol. anyway this is me cutting to the chase. and not drifting away from the subject and talking about things that dont pertain to the title of this thread.

thanks in advance

I'm going to move this over to the CA section, far better advice to be had there.

The CA w/T25 @ 12 psi is near the limit, but OK, as long as you're not using the stock side mount.

I think the coil is the problem.

yah i picked ca180sx cause i thought i was being whitty by using ca18 and 180sx together man i rock the world. as far as the whole boost isssue goes. im running a large 3 inch thick front mount. the exhaust is 3"turbo back. which would explain the 10psi sustained boost. it spikes to 12 and receeds to 10. i would like to get more fuel delivered but im sorry i just dont want the god damn nismo FPR i know you all swear by it. but frankly i dont have the cash and im tired off getting hassled about it. now that thats off my chest. i would like to get a walby 255 and i heard they are a decent price from one of our sponsors.i think honestly i need to get more fuel. check the impedence of the coil and see if its still good(info on checking the coil would be greatly appreciated). and get a tune. and a new exhaust cause the one i have is a piece of sh*t and frankly im sick of it. ive actually been backing into dirt piles and rocks and anything i can find. while i back up i yell at the exhaust. its kind of pathetic. (TAKE THIS STUPID EXHAUST! I HATE YOU!)

thanks againSeamus

10psi with a 3in on the stock turbo is actually normal. You DO need a walbro though as you're nearing the limits of the stock fuel pump. You don't NEED the NISMO FPR, it just helps to lean the motor out a bit, and can be more stable than the stock unit.

what is the stock FP of the CA? and also i wondered a few of the basics like what oil to use. i have been figuring 10w40. also can i use the rebuild kit for the 84-86 200sx turbo i know its the single cam but ive read that the water pump and oil pump are good to go. just wondered about the gaskets. also is tweakit.com the only place with stock CA coils? they are 86$ on tweakit and i wondered if i can get them for a better price. also how can i test my coil to see if its not producing the correct charge, if thats even what im looking for...also the kid put bosch platinum +4's in the car before i got it. is this a goot plug to use? and does anyone have a link to a thread or site that has all the CA lowdown in a list? do i ask too many questions? is it bad i want to know everything there is to know about these wonderful engines? are you annoyed yet?

thanks a bunch as alwaysSeamus

The stock fuel pressure is aprox. 36psi. If you don't have a copy of the FSM, there is a link to download it in the stickies.

10-40 is fine.

You want to use the 86-89 Nissan Pulsar NX SE engine rebuild kit. The 84-86 200sx S12 engine won't have most of the gaskets you'll need.

You DO want to use the S12 turbo water pump.

You want to use the Pulsar oil pump. I THINK the S12 oil pump uses the smaller nose on the crank pulley and won't work with your crank.

IIRC coils can be had from Advance auto for about $60-$80.

Yes you can test the coils. The procedure is laid out in the FSM that can be downloaded in the stickies at the top of the forum.

Don't use platinum plugs. Use plain ole' NGK's, or if you want to upgrade, you can use the Iridiums. I have been running them for almost 2 years w/o a problem.

You are ON the site that has this info. Most of it's in the stickies in the FAQ at the top of the forum.

Yes, you ask too many questions, but I still like you.

No, it's not bad to want to know everything. Most of what you want to know can be found in the FAQ in the the Stickies at the top of the forum.

I'm not annoyed yet, but have I annoyed you yet by telling you about all of the wonderful information that can be found in the FAQ in the Sticky at the top of the forum?

Glad to help,Ryan

tooo funny. i like how you laid it out. for some reason i think i want to check the FAQ in the stickies...hmm just a hunch i got. i read your thread by the way as well. cant remember the name but it was the breakdown on getting the CA up to par. very informative. thanks again for the help and quick response. and for having a sense of humor. I believe you guys you the RON rating for gasoline, whereas we use the ((R+M)/2) method. This yields different (generally lower for us) octane ratings for the same gasoline.

you need them for the '88 pulsar. use a starter for the ca18et from a 200sx. i think those are correct. maybe the starter for the de will work, but im not sure.
