the rb20 runs a t25 and the rb25 runs a t28 and they both run about 7psi stock but as far as the rb25 pulling so much harder than the 20 isn't that true because my rb20 keeps up with if not pulls just as hard as a stock25 done it plenty of times but if you want 300whp just get a beter turbo (not the 25 turbo unless rebuilt with steel fins) im told you can get the rebuild kit for like 250 bucks run like 15lbs and tune it with a front mount because you can run 14or15 on either of the stock turbos but they will not last long at allshally2186 wrote:from what ive heard, the RB20 turbo isnt that strong at all..ive got a RB25 turbo on my RB20 actually..supposedly stronger T25..The RB20 runs stock around 10lbs of boost and the RB25 runs stock around 5lbs of boost(useless info)..lol..if u do get the RB20 and want a RB25 turbo for it,my buddy has one for sale for $200...
get a top mount off of ebay with a t3 t4 flange they have the whole kit for like 500 bucks but you get what you pay forRed93coupe wrote:SO it is a t2 flange? And what turbo will work I am looking for around 300rwhp? I know that the stock rb20 bottom end can hold up, keep in mind that if I go through with this I will biuld it up so I can run it as my 300hp dd, thanks for the help though, much appreciated!!
it's pissing me off everytime i see misinformation. RB DOES NOT HAVE T25 STOCK, SO SHUT ABOUT IT....both the rb20 and rb25 have a hybrid t28, with a t3 foot_print on the exhaust side. the rb25 turbo is just newer. both motor have some turbo that are ball-bearing and some are thrust bearing, depends the model printed on the turbo. the ball-bearing spool faster. both will take 15psi, but not very long. the fins are very brittle, high velocity will basically shatters them.rb20s14 wrote:

it's a possible option, but turn out to be impractical due to the final price, which equals to buying a new larger turbo. especially the ball bearing version of the rb25/20 turbos are more expensive to rebuild.Red93coupe wrote:So none of you guys think that if I were to buy a rb25 turbo rebuild it, and see if I can find some steel impeller wheels I could get to around 300rwhp?? I have a bored and built rb25 turbo myself that has gt2871r internals in it,The rebuild was about 800$ US but I bought it second hand for 600$ with 12k on it.....this turbo made 450whp at 24psi on an rb25.Red93coupe wrote:So none of you guys think that if I were to buy a rb25 turbo rebuild it, and see if I can find some steel impeller wheels I could get to around 300rwhp?? Thread jacker..... JK you can buy a xs power kit for a skyline, and it doesn't take much to get it to fit, but you will need to find a hot pipe, anyways, I will hopefully be buying a rb20 this summer, any ideas on where to get a tubular manifold?drifter1283 wrote:Well i am going to be doing a swap in a few months and since you are all talking about turbos and related things. Where can i find intercooler piping for the swap into an s13, or can you just use the one thats is made for the r32 rb's, or does it have to be custom made?
