About to plow another 7 grand into this 1996 Q45.

8 new OEM coils. Tie Rods....brake hoses...spark plugs... and a few more.
Just waiting for the call to authorize. That brings total repair cost to $21,000 for new to date. Guess that's not to bad . GULP

Well only 4 grand was the total estimate.

no problem now..... will not cancel the 2021 Maybach order.

Thats one well loved G50 you have there!
I may have to risk my better halfs' ire and buy it should you ever decide to get rid of it.
but to be helpful....I think $21000....which is about $850 a year/ $75 a month is pretty reasonable.
Maybe even more helpful? I know you don't do your own work and are therefore somewhat at the mercy of those who do. It's really down to rockauto, used, and amayama parts.
I know that the OE coil subharness is no longer available, even from Japan. That in my view is just as likely to cause misfires after 25 years as a degrading coil pack. To that end, I converted one of my G50s almost 2 years ago to 'smart' coils. I did a short write-up here on the board.
Maybe consider used ignition coils? The Hitachi OE don't typically fail on the G50. I happen to have a set I'd let go on the cheap for someone who loves their G50....
just a thought.

Hi. I just checked with my tech and they already looked at the coil sub hardness and it looks good. They are replacing all eight ignition coils with OEM. And a new windshield as its really pitted.

Really you are right $75.00 a month for maintainance for all these years is not bad.
