I paid off my Mazda Millenia this morning. I made extra payments and shortened the loan from 66 payments to 50. First thing I am doing is scrapping it, piece of junk!

Congrats on getting it paid off!

May I suggest that if you decide to post you classified here on Nico that you don't link it back to this thread? Just a thought. :gapteeth:

Roger that!

The car has been nothing but trouble since week two of ownership. From a blinking air bag light to bad control arms that cost $400 each dealer only! It drove perfect for one week then the engine puked right after I had put all new brakes and tires on it. It's been sitting on blocks for a year and finally I can get rid of it. I'll take my loses just to get rid of it. Putting the money towards a first gen Frontier.

Did you call Mazda about all the issues, or does your state have a lemon law?

If you're gonna scrap it, why not make it a fun event? What if you used it for some kinda "Boom Boom to a Zoom Zoom" sacrifice show? Offer a sledge hammer bang per buck. Afterwards have a bonfire "witch" burning motif using it's many receipts as kindling. Heck, just write the name "Westboro Baptist Church" on the hood, and you'll get national TV coverage and a thousand people lining up to hand you $10 to whack it.
Just a thought.

Bought the car used, Mazda wouldn't care no matter how loud I yelled. It is a lemon but it doesn't meet lemon law requirements. Sad too because it's such a sexy looking car.

Big purchases look better on your credit. A credit card does nothing for it. Credit makes a difference between making it and not.

I'm sure Rev had good reasons to that term.

It best if you can purchase high and pay off. Even weathly a** people finance everything lol.

I bought it in 06. I'm puffing on a cigar in celebration right now.

Wealthy-a** people certainly don't finance everything. They pay cash for poor, depreciating investments, and save their ability to leverage and finance on things that will make them money.

Oh, and as I've stated profusely before, it's easy to be successful without "credit."

So, a 5 year long on a broken-a** car...yikes. But hey, paying it off early made that hit less worse.

Well Rev, you definitely have more patience than me. I would have probably had my way with some insurance fraud on it or something a long time ago.

Ooh, personal finance discussion... nevermind too tired.

Its a shame the Millenia is such a PITA. Its a really nice car to drive. Its nice to sit in too, in the driveway, where it sits forever parked.

I put it up for sale on CL as a parts car. A guy is coming out tomorrow to check it out.
