I've been thinking about this for some time. my girlfriends dad is a junkyard master. he found all the little pieces i needed to put back onto my car after the previous owner decided none of it mattered (side view mirrors, glove box, center consol, sunroof. *the car is in perfect running condition with lots of mods just some wierd whatsits and doodads missing, but now it's all fixed) and I was wondering if it's possible i could go with him to a junkyard, pull out say....a 300zx turbo, or whatever turbo i can find their, and put it into my KA to get an extra 50 some hp hopefully. if that's possible can anyone explain to me exactly how to do it, and what i need. thank you for any help.

i think has been covered before, try searching, and go to the KA-T section, there should be more info there.

I'm guessing you're aware, but you can't just get a turbo and bolt it on. There is a whole list of other things you need, a lot of them being things that are too critical to pick up at a junkyard.

I mean it's your decision, but if I had a car in perfect running condition I wouldn't sacrifice that just for a bargain. Remember, you get what you pay for.

The manifold will cost you... unless you're a welder, look to pay anywhere from 200 to 700 for one, depending on quality... SAFCII would be the cheapest engine management, and you'll have to spend atleast 225 on it. I was able to turbo my MR2 for around 750 dollars however using a junkyard turbo, downpipe, and cutting corners, and it ran fine for 4 months until I sold it for the 240.

remember what he said, he just wants an extra 50hp. and thats exactly what the junkyard setup does.
