I have been slowly upgrading my 2002 Chilkoot (Canadian Pathfinder) for years now.
I was never satisfied with the bland black look of the interior and other stuff.
Over the years I've added OEM fog lights, tinted windows, air defector and stuff like that.
I also changed out the interior black trim pieces (dash, window switch trim pieces, etc.) for the nicer wood grain type,
as well as adding the overhead console with the temp and compass readouts.
All of this was thanks to a 2001 LE in my local junkyard.
That junkyard was sold, and then closed this spring. A new owner took over and said they were going to clean the yard completely, and bring in all new "fresh" wrecks.
They finally re-opened the last week of October.
I went there in early November, and thought I had died and gone to heaven. They had a new section with just imports, and there were over 10 Pathfinders there, as well as one QX4.
They were fresh and complete.
I always wanted to upgrade my cloth seats to heated/power leather. I got lucky and gutted the interior of a 2001 LE. I was the first guy to get at it.
I took all four seats, along with a bunch of other stuff.
Here's the kicker, and reason for writing: They had a special opening deal, effective for all of November:
All you can carry, no matter what, for a maximum of $49.95.
That's right, nothing over 50 bucks. Need an engine/transmission? 50 bucks.
I went with my next door neighbour and we walked out with our arms full.
Here's just a small sample of what I got: All of it for $50.00
I've installed the seats and heater switches, but I haven't had time to wire up the heating elements.
In my truck, the harness was there for the power seats, but not for the heater. Can't complain though.I was pretty stoked.

Nice! I'm jealous. Junkyards in my local area suck. I keep meaning to find time to pull heated seat elements and switches from a Nissan vehicle to stuff into my cloth seats, but then again it doesn't really get cold in Florida...

I managed to snag a 2003 beige overhead console unit for $30 (or was it $25?) on eBay so I'm happy about that. I could still use sun visors with lights, I guess...

The Chilkoot trail was the trail used to access the Yukon Gold Rush.

Yea, I was pretty lucky to get there early, and yes, I wanted you all to be jealous.... ;)
I went back last week just to have another look around, and I couldn't believe how much had been picked over.
The LE that I took the interior from was missing the entire front end (fascia, bumper, lights, etc). They were all there before.
The one QX4 that was there had leather seats as well, but they were too beat up to use.
I wanted fender flares, but there weren't any in good enough shape to use.
The other things I took were all of the interior door panels. Mine are pretty beat up and scratched from all of the stuff I carry around (I do home renovations).
I plan to swap them out next summer when I slow down a little.
I also picked out 2 MAF sensors, as well as a complete throttle body assembly....just in case.
It's fun too. I love walking around junk yards.
As I was going in, there were 2 guys coming back with a complete engine/transmission assembly out of a Honda Civic....$50.00. Incredible.
