Junk on my Trunk

well, i've known about this since i bought the car (it's in the bottom left part of the logo):





now, i'm discovering the same odd solid substance on my other badges. They don't photograph too well, and i cant get it to focus any sharper, so this is the best i can do.





My guess is that it's the glue that holds the badges on, and for some reason it's seeping out and over. But then again, why would it be able to crystallize on top and not on the bottom?

Does anybody have any idea what the hell this crap is and/or how i can remove it?

An Xacto knife oughta take care of it. I have the same stuff on mine.
