Totally hot, but seeing as plenty of great companies make pistons here in the states, I see absolutely no reason to drop a ton of money on those JUN deals. Cp, Arias, Weisco, all make them, and probably for hundreds less than JUN.

sleeve the snout on a CA20 crank and you will have a Tomei crank.

How hard is it to sleve that bad boy? I might pick one up next time I am at the junk yard. Even if I never use it, it will look totally awesome in my bedroom next to my spare: turbo, cams, ss o2 housing, turbo timer, head unit, z32 AFM, etc.

RB guys sleeve their early cranks for the oil pump drive. I can't imaging the timing gear cog would be any different.

I've thought about it. I can't find just a crank though, I'd have to buy the whole damn motor. There is one locally, but they want $600 for the damn thing.

I'm not paying $600 for a motor just to rob the crank out of it and scrap the rest of it.

Not really gold. It just takes a lot of work to get it to work right, and you generally don't have any lightweight flywheel options if you go that route.

What exactly needs to be done to the crank? Is it just the part that timing belt cog slips on to that needs to be bigger?

**Edit: There's also a Tomei Crank/Piston set on Yahoo right now for anyone that's interested.

the collar that drives the oil pump is ~7mm wide on the bad cranks it should be 16-18mm wide..

so the collar corrects that.. you have to machine the crank down then heat the collar and slip it on.. set screw is optional..

anyone got a pic of a ca crank?
