i didnt see anything about this prob anywhere i looked so,,

as some of you know i have a 91 S-13, with the orig ka24de in the shop my temp engine is the same with about 60k on it, its all stock, not one thing changed on it, i disassebled it about a year ago, and installed new gaskets just to be safe since ill be using this motor a while, well, last week i let a friend take it to a buddy house and anyway he got some cam gears for it, so i let him put them on,, and it wouldnt start, so i took them back off this mornin and put the stock ones back on and it runs!!

but not very good, a couple deciding things tho are, what little fuel is in it has been in there over a month, aside from the manifold downpipe and cat, there is no exaust, and it hasnt been driven for any real lenth of time for over 2 years, at most was about 8 miles after i bought the motor,

so i need to know, how can i check to see if it has jusped time on one or both cams? as i need to get it on the road soon!!(finally getting rid of that mitsu****ty, BTW no guys i never did get that 87' 300ZT, sucks too, i found out it does have upgraded turbo. runs mid13's saposedly,

well i would appreciate some tips asapmatt

set the crankshaft pulley at 0º (tdc compression stroke), pull the valve cover and check the timing marks on the cams

I recently had this prob rebuilding my ka24de, if your counting chain links they should be 8 apart. If your dot on the intake cam is pointed to the center of the link, then count seven across not including the one its on.
