i've almost done that when i had my old civic. I was trying listen for a sound comming from the front of my car and not paying attention while shifting. I was pulling about 6800rpms in 3rd and accidentily shifted to second. I sarted to let the clutch out and realized my rpms jumped past 9000 rpms, which is past the tach read too. It probably went to 11000rpms for about 3 seconds them i pushed the clutch back in and shifted to 5th. I was greatful my engine held together. Nick

When i first got my car i went from 2nd back into 1st while flooring it and all sorts of red lights went off on my gauge cluster and i kept saying "**** me, **** me, im so stupid". Luckly all that happend was the old crappy belts that were on the engine shreaded. Thing still runs like the day i got it.
