Has anyone done business with this guy? He told me he had an s13 DOHC wiring harness that he'd sell me for $80. He gave me his Paypal address, and I sent him the money there. It's been almost two weeks since I sent that money and he has yet to respond to any of my emails. I even opened up a claim on Paypal. I'm about to call my bank and try to get them to do a chargeback, but other than that along with the Paypal claim, I do not know what to do.

Edit: Just got off the phone with the bank. Since it's cleared my account, there is nothing they can do.

Just got off the phone with paypal. The money will be returned on the 16th if he doesn't respond.

This kind of sh*t should be a crime. Regardless of whether I get my money back, I still had to let it sit out in noman'sland for almost three weeks. If anyone knows this jackhole in person, knock a couple of their teeth out for me, will you?

It IS a crime. The link I gave you has some good info on what you can do if not more. I'm glad to hear you're getting your money back at least!

I'm glad you may be getting your money back, OP, and I can't think of a better example of why buying something from someone you don't know and who hasn't built up a reputation is generally not advisable.

I know it's unpopular with some folks here, but I still say that a 10-post minimum before posting a FS or WTB ad is waaaay too little. I'd say make it at least 50 posts or have someone vouch for the seller to a mod/admin (and the voucher would have to have over 100 posts). That said, there have been scammers on here who we thought were awesome folks (eg Dale Davis), but most scammers are too lazy to spend the time to build up a rep.
