If you goto http://www.jspecauto.com they have complete SR20DET packages for $1600 I dont know if theyre missing anything or what. But does anyone know why theyre so cheap?! Most other places sell them for 2000-2400.

They gave me this list of what was included.

Block Complete Head Top Engine Harness Lower Engine / transmission harness Power Steering pump Power Steering high pressure Line Power Steering reservoir if SOHC car, DOHC has correct reservoir Alternator - can use some DOHC KA Alternators Starter AC compressor Wastegate solenoid controller Turbo inlet pipe Turbo outlet pipe Canister Turbo Wastegate actuator Cam Angle Sensor Throttle Body Turbo exhaust outlet extension

ECU (computer)5 speed manuel Transmission - with Clutch components assembled to the engine - Built-in Turbo - Engine wiring harness * 40-50 thousand miles * Compression and leakdown tests are performed in Japan.

???????

Anyone :pface

Actually I know of one person who ordered from jspec off the FA forum and received it with a crushed ecu and I belive a broken maf and a couple of other missing parts. Now in there favor they did state to him they would replace the parts but I havent heard anything recently about it actually being replaced yet.

40000 to 50000 miles, forget that, I'll pay double for one with <10000miles.

I personally dont, but anything is possible with enough research. I was just saying that I would prefer an engine with 10k over one with 50k and would pay more for it. Maybe not double, but more. The way i figure it the one with 10k on it has had less time to get f*cked up by the previous owners.

50 k is nothing for a jap car, even if the previous owners bagged the car :pface

I think im going to go for that one. Heres why

1. Im a canuck, so there will be no tariffs and all that bs to get it to me (shipping will also be cheaper)

2. The price is lower

But by all means if anyone thinks i should not buy from jspec please, by all means, tell me! :)

First I would:

1. Get owner's name.2. Find out how long they have been in business.3. Check with consumer groups for complaints (I don't know if there is a Better Business Bureau in Canada). Then I would:

1. Pay with a credit card so you can dispute if there is a problem.2. Tell me how your experience went.

I hope everything goes well for you.

yep....Cartunes in Industry, CA can get you low mile SR20DET's....Kinda pricey, but they live up to their word..They usually get shipments in with the engine having about 10k-20k US miles...so just do the conversion to see how many kilos it is.... 10,000 divided by .62 and voila...

I talked to the owner of jspec and the reason it is 1599 is the harness is cut.

$1600?! This is the first deal I've seen that's cheaper than Daunttless... Even with the cut harness, it still doesn't sound too bad, but then I'm new. How much is a complete wiring harness?

Add that $200 to the $1600 for the engine with cut harness and $350 for shipping anywhere in the U.S. and you have a nice sr20det mill for $2150 on your doorstep! Not bad!

Dang, Daunttless, I forgot about how much you said taxes are! It'd still probably be cheaper in the end to get the jspecauto package, I think...

There are top and bottom harnesses, and hopefully everything else is complete. 2150 to your doorstep, mine is about 250 dollars more to your doorstep but at least you know everything is there. : )

Also, how many do they have in stock? : )

Enjoy your day!

Ok then Daunttless, since yours comes with the SMIC too so thats a plus: Are you able to find out the price for shipping and other BS taxes and all that to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada?

Because I'd love to buy from you since you are a reliable source :) So once i have some numbers i can decide everything.

Its just that i live up "north" so it can cause problems via shipping/taxes :rant

Thanks

I'll see about it soon, I'm sure we can work something out so I can get a few more connections in the great white north. : )

I was going to buy 10 engines through jspecauto, yes I have a business. After months of correspondence with Ismael (the owner) I decided that it simply wasn't worth it. He quoted me a price, I sent in an order form and then he jerked me around until he finally told me that the price had now risen over 2 times the original amount, the harnesses are now cut, and he would get me pictures of all of the motors.

He kept giving me b.s. story after b.s. story as to why there were no pictures (maybe because he doesn't have the motors??). On top of all of this, he couldn't remember my name, nor my company for the life of him. I'm pretty sure that if I was going to sell 10 motor sets to someone, I would at least vaguely remember their name.

This is my personal experience with "them" so you decide from here.....

I am in the same dilemma you are in, I live in Ontario and it is **** buying from the US because of all the taxes and duties and brokerage fees when it crosses. If you want something out of Canada check streetimports.com, their offices are in toronto and main warehouse in Ohio, but before everything is moved to Ohio it comes into Ottawa so if you call them they can have one shipped to you directly from Ottawa, just have to pay shipping no duties and such. I believe a front clip is $2999USD for a s13 red top.

Why don't you Canadians just drive down to Daunttless's shop, swap engines and drive back. They don't check under your hood when you go through customs, right? So no taxes, no nothing, right? ...Or am I missing something here, like you want to do the swap yourself? :) I'm not totally serious, by the way, but it's a thought about getting around taxes... you'd also get around shipping/handling this way as a bonus! (I know, I know, motels and food, etc. I said I was kidding!)Later,Chris

Wait now.. Daunttless once pointed out to me that there are TWO jspecs. One sells some stuff on ebay that is an absolute scam.. the other is a reputable company.
