So if WD had his first kill recently, i recently had my first loss. This all went down on I-75 around midnite with no other cars nearby so safety was good for this lol. Anyways, so im heading home and i see a white 97 kouki get on the highway. He speeds so i follow. Then we pull up next to each other and slow down. He starts to gun it but then i point out the cop that blazes right by both of us. Then we slow down again and he shoots off first. Now he basically ate me up like a geo metro and it wasnt till i hit 110 and was pacing him when i figured out why. He had to have been in third cuz i was in fourth when we went at it. Now you may ask why the hell would i be in fourth and try to race? Well every other car that i have killed has been done in fourth gear. Which cars u may ask, well here's the list:

So lesson to be learned is now i will never ever race anyone in fourth gear. Its all balls out now. For all of you wondering what this mysterious 97 kouki had, i had to call my friend to find out his mods since he is part of the local 240 club here. Now for my excuses. He dialed in on me last nite so that wasnt helpful. He was running 12 pounds, i got a max of .72 (10 psi) on that pull. I am also lugging a nice 50 pound sub box and two rims in the trunk. So, besides my boost coming on late, the 60 degree weather, the weight difference and the elevated boost level on a larger turbo, that explains the loss. Nonetheless, it was very cool to see another KA-T in action. This now gives me the determination to tune for the 1 bar setting on my wastegate. If he can run 12 psi on that size turbo, i can do 1 bar on my T3 with the same injectors.

you have some nice kills

dont jsut run more boost because he is with a bigger turbo. take it to the dyno to make sure you dont get far past 250rwhp or get a scanner of some sort to see duty cylce or pulse width

ya i did want to get a dyno run in sometime soon so i could know where i stand. Im sure at one bar, the stock MAF would be maxed out for sure. The injector duty cycle i guess would come into play also at that boost level.

And yes, as said before, at least it wasnt an SR. lol.

Man some s14 KA-T pulled the crap out on me, but that was when i was completely untuned, pinging, and my ringlads/rear turbo seal were shot. Result:I am behind him, 100ft or so. He sees me comign up, punches it. I punch it. the distance slowly grows part, but I can still see him (about 800ft down), BUT... nobody behind me can see anythign since I've been leaving a very dense trail of smoke (about 6 feet tall) behind me for the last mile the friend who fiollowedme had to pull over and let the oil smoke settle. Good times.

He is running a stock fuel pump with 12 psi????

No way he was in 3rd... my 3rd does MAX 95-100 thats in red. 4th can hit 120 at 6500.

So if you were doing anything above 90 he was in 4th.

Unless he changed gearing that much.

stock tires/gears/lsd 3rd goes to 85. Fourth to 112. (s13)

like i said, we started around 65 or 70 so its very possible for him to be in third. I did it all in fourth so that would explain the non-racing like look i must have had in his rear view. lol. Its all good tho. Wont happen again.............
