Ok I was asked by a local car club to join their ranks. I am very intrested. I emailed them and asked them what they needed on my part to become a member. Well there is a $20/year membership fee, no big deal but they want me to sport some stickers on my car. They say this is required and photos must be taken with the stickers on. Well for one I don't want any stickers on my car at all. I detest them and because of that requirement I am at a cross-roads. What should I do?

I know that if I put on the stickers that they want me to that other people will start trying to street race me all the time which I am not into and I just don't want stickers on my car.

Is it stupid to not join a car club because of stickers or am I right on the money here? Help me decide what I should do as I would like to join the club.

I detest MOST car clubs. Unless its all Nissans, or all Altimas, I say scratch the idea, especially if they want you to rock big stickers.

Bud hit the nail on the head though.

Never! I have parts stickers all over my computer, I would never sport them on the car. I am having real serious issues with this. I just went to the clubs website and had a look at the roster, mostly fords, why would they invite an underdog Nissan such as myself I have no clue. I think I am going to pass on this one and see if any Nissan clubs would be intrested.

IMHO - Stickers on your car should be more like giving back or something that effect. I rock a phase2 sticker because Wayne has been good to me, and hes always helpful, so I put a sticker on my left quarterpanel for him. I am probably going to get a NICO sticker too, because most of you crazy folk are pretty cool, so I'll give back. But I don't want a huge one, 2x6 is about the biggest I'll put on my car (unless i get some free jack for the sticker, hehe).

EDIT: I put all my stupid stickers on my toolbox. I don't rice out my computer.

Ugh, I just went through this myself. I joined a car club here on campus (sometimes wish I hadn't, they all seem to be more into rice than anything else) and I was required to wear the sticker. Well, I didn't want to put anything on my car, especially a freakin' windshield banner. To top it off, the name is "Street Performance Racing." Need I say more?

Anyways, I gave in, but not without my conditions. I said I'd put the name on the car, but it wouldn't be on the windshield, and it wouldn't be in the goofy font they'd picked out. I basically had a sticker made that was 1x10" and put it on the lowest part of my rear window. It's on the car, but it's not too obnoxious, so it works.

I only sport one sticker and its funny cuz its not for parts that i bought for the car... Its for my stereo... "Audiobahn" across the top of my windshield... and thats all that goes there... but i think i'm gonna move that too the back and put a NISMO on the front and the Audiobahn on the back.. but thats all... i want to make my car a sleeper... maybe i should advertise stereo equipment i don't have and keep everything under the hood a secret... lol that would fool em... i say no to ricer stickers... waste of time.... lead not follow !!! Someone making you put stickers is like peer pressure when it comes to drugs ... everyone's doing but that doesn't make it right :pface

I have car club stickers on my car and they are very tasteful and not overdone. I'm for them if they are understated.

I only put stickers on my car of a shop or organization that I support. I'm close to putting a NICO sticker on my Grand Prix. I've always thought it would be kinda gay to have a Nissan sticker on a domestic, but the thought has crossed my mind.

The only sticker I have on it now is an Infantry window cling sticker. It's been on there for almost two years now, and I'll always support the 11B!

A NICO sticker on a Nissan is as squared-away as it gets though...

Yeh the sticker says "Street Fighter Racing" which is not what I am about just by the name alone. I emailed them asking a few more questions and I am waiting for a reply. Looks like a no-go.

Are there any benefits to this car club, or is it so you can say "Yah i'm in a club?".

If you won't really get anything out of this club, i say **** it.

I would not put the stickers on your car if you are totally against it. Someone had a good idea about Photoshopping the sticker on. But my real concern would be the $20/year. What do they plan on doing with the $20 and is being a part of a "club" be worth $20?

Wow their sticker must be amazing if they can make a FWD Altima drift. I'll see what they claim it can do.

My personal opinion is if the sticker is tastefully done then I would sport it as long as it blended in but then again Street Fighter Racing, hmmm, I don't know about that one (sounds kind of goofy no offense Rev).

If it was a respectable club then I also say go for it cause it is more exposure for you but depending on other people's opinions of that club, then that reputation will be on you also, I know it is silly and kinda childish but that is the way the business rolls. You don't want to associate with a club that has ricey cars or something in it ya get what I am saying.

I totally agree. I "StreetFighterRacing" sticker on the side of my stickerless altima would be a joke. I asked them if there was another way to represent and they told me they would get back to me. I think I am better off starting a Nissan only club up here in western NY. I have talked to a few other Nissan owners and they say it is a great idea so we will have to see.

I think I am going to pass on the SFR club as it doesn't fit the persona of my car or me. I'd rather sport a WNY.Niissan.club sticker.

I suggest a small sticker on the rear quarter windows only. Eventually you may decide to quit the club. A sticker left too long on a painted surface will be noticeable after it's removed.Just my humble opinion

To me it's very important to run my crew's sticker, even a banner across the front, because it was a crew we started. We only have five members now but we've been hanging out for about the past five years and become like a family to each other. It's such a tight knit crew that it means way more than stickers or what car you have or what mods you've done; to me it's actually being a part of something, not just someone who paid their way in. But if it weren't the case and I joined another crew I would still run their sticker as long as it wasn't too big or horrible looking.
