I used to listen to thrash when I was younger. I still put some on from time to time, but Dream Theater and Opeth have dominated my playlist for the past decade.

This thread makes me all sentimental and s***.

I will never forget the first time I listened to the Anthrax version of "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath". Talk about innocence gone!

If you think that is good, you should hear Bruce d!ck's. It blows any version, to include original, out of the water.

Oh I'm familiar and you are correct. I just was referring to that version as a 14 year old kid.

My dad listened to 90% of that, and so I grew up with a heavy appreciation for Anthrax, Sick of it All, and Overkill. Hi cassettes are now mine. And I'm definitely going to put in my Call to Arms cd in on the way home now, thanks!

But unlike most metal heads, my dad never played an instrument and told me I was dumb when I started learning guitar and then moved on to bass.

If you like thos bands also check out: Bullet for my Valentine, All That Remains, Atreyu, and Silverstein.

I approve of this thread.

I also approve of skinny Nissan drivers in girl jeans being exposed to good music (even if it is "old").

Greg, that is an ABSOLUTELY unfair stereotype.

...some of them don't drive Nissans.
