John McCains Energy Follies

While I'm a believer in the free market, I think the time has come for a POTUS to make a "move from foreign oil" energy commitment like Kennedy's "We will put a man on the moon by the end of this decade".

An interesting challenge indeed! May make things actually happen, for a change.

Another great "out of the box" idea to move the city away from burning fossil fuels that makes an incredible amount of sense. I wonder how much oil we could save if more cities started harvesting the methane from their treatmant plants.

Our town is harvesting methane from our landfill.

All it takes is high energy prices and efficiencies improve all over the country. Our sister city, Moorhead, MN has two wind towers.

I don't see much in telco's post that condemns McCain. For some reason, the article assumes that we shouldn't drill for oil anywhere new, therefore McCain = bad. McCain is criticized for pushing the gas tax holiday, which I agree was the most naked of pandering - a thoroughly stupid idea.

And in my book, T Boone is The Man.

He's figured out out to replace diesel, which is the Real problem.

I heard on the radio this morning that another town is recouping methane from the city's human waste... Can't recall where, seems to me it was in CA.

EDIT - I'm a tard, it was San Antonio (and has already been posted).
