I have a W7 in my current car (07 Jetta) and am looking for a A/C within 3 weeks. My question to you guys is- do you think it's worth trying to squeeze such a massive subwoofer (45lbs) into the coupe's small trunk? I can live without bass but I already have it and want to use what I have. Opinions? I'm thinking about selling it to my neighbor for $600 (paid 8) and just use that money for engine mods...

You paid $800? Ebay man, Ebay... anyway it depends on how much you need the space. the fiberglass setup for two 12's i'm in the middle of installing is a whole trunk setup, not space left except for above the flush mounted amps. But it'l fit I f you really really want it to.

i stumbled upon my receipts and they marked it down to 7. yes i paid that much..i like knowing my stuff has a warranty and if anything does happen i don't have to pay a penny out of pocket to get a new sub . it's come in handy and has already paid for itself (i got t-boned, sub was damaged- i got a new one for free). i've bought subs off ebay and they blew within an hour of install (not a crappy 1st timer installing either) i had this stuff professionally done and that was a waste of 300. as far as cramming it, i'm just concerned about massive rattle and dont really want to spend another 250-3 on dynamat AGAIN.

A couple things...

1. you need to develop a relationship with one of the sales people at your local shop, or search around more... a brand new W7 should NEVER cost $700, you got duped there, but oh well!

2. Regarding space, I have a rockford fosgate Power T2 subwoofer which is the counterpart to JL's W7, and mine weighs 60lbs, and it fits in the trunk nicely in a custom box. Still have room left over in the trunk for a golf or gym bag if it wasn't for all the Tv's

3. You will definately need your trunk dynamatted, if you get a nice woofer, but you already knew that. But don't get dynmat... there are better cheaper products out there!
