I think you should find a local store that sells these and listen to them...

The JL W7 is a loud boomy sloppy speaker. Two would almost certainly not fit in your trunk! Even one is just going to be loud and sloppy, definately NOT an SQ sub at all..

If you want SQ over SPL, I say go with one 12" W3, or if you want more power handling go with one 12" W6, but definately not a W7

I can vouch for the 12"W3 mine sounds great. Like Rob said compare it to the W6, maybe the W3 won't be loud enough for you.

there are a number of companies that make monster subs... the immortal is on par with the JL W7... again, not an SQ subwoofer... and from a sub-par company at that!

For pricing and such I suggest you contact NICO member Broadfield. You can find him relatively easy in the NICO car audio forums.

I would agree with everything Doc has said along with the above statement. I've seen quite a few people that have used Broadfield to get components. He seems to be very helpful to members and you'd have an easy way to get in contact with him if you run into problems through the boards!

Get a 12" Alpine Type X. I just hooked up 2 10" type X's and these things are amazing. But they love power, so you haft to feed them.

For JL the W6 sounds alot better than the W7. The W7 is just loud

alpine xs are a really nice sounding speaker just make sure u have the amp to match, they take more power than most do to sound good.

as said before. there is now way 2 13.5" w7's would fit in your car, at least not in the correct size box.

anyways. i have 2 12" W3V3 subs in my trunk in a ported box running 600w rms. granted i lost majority of my trunk space, but it sounds fantastic. very clean punchy bass. i would highly recommend the w3's as they can handle 500w rms per sub. if you want very clean bass that hits hard run 2 12" JL W3v3-4 on a JL 1000/1 amp in a sealed enclosure and it should sound beautiful. just my $0.02

bandpass boxes were designed to make cheap subwoofers sound better... definately NOT the optimum setup for JL W3's... just my .03

I just hooked up 2 JL 10W3V3 subs (500W rms each) in parallel (2 ohm) and powered by an Alpine PDX 1.600 (700W rms). I haven't tuned the amp yet, but so far it sounds good.

A great box can make a mediocre subwoofer sound great. At least that's my experience with the only subwoofer I have ever owned. In my old car I had this 10" Audiobaun something or other, purchased it off ebay, probably around 100 bucks. However, I had it put in this huge custom box from this audio place where I live and the thing sounded amazing. People inside (and outside) my car couldn't believe how powerful and crisp one little 10" sub was.

In fact, I still have the box if anyone is interested in a 10" (single) sub enclosure.
