Now that I have the Pioneer AVIC-F90BT... and have used it for a few days, I now understand why everyone has been complaining about bass and speakers... I don't want to change the speakers just yet... mainly just the sub... I am interested in getting JL model #SB-IN-G35CPE/10W1v2/BK

from this URL: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/prod...=1515

I've used JL in the past, loved it... I really need to have trunk space for golf clubs and be able to fold my seats down so I can fit my snowboard in the back to drive to my friend's house.... In otherwords I cannot afford to lose trunk space....

I used the search feature and have read the links people put up as reference to: zerothread?id=263138

Not much information tho.... I was wondering since 2007, has anyone purchased the JL stealth sub?

I also plan to purchase Alpine PDX-5 amplifier:

Output Channels 5 Channels Watts RMS 75W x 4 + 300W x 1 Watts RMS 300W x 1 (mono)

just so when I do change the speakers it'll be ready... I know it's probably not advisable to purchase part by part as installation cost can add up, but I think purchase everything at once you don't appreciate it as much and also mean you have to save a little longer....

anyways thanks for reading.. I hope to hear some comments.

Are you sure about using the stealth box from JL? You could have a box made just like the stealth box and put an RE Audio SX10 in it and have a much better sub than JL can offer. I did that in my wifes Xterra, except I put the SX12 in there not the 10. Puts out too much bass for her liking when the output to the sub is set at +6. I also put the AVIC F90BT in her Xterra as well. It is a sweet head unit.

RE Audio SX10, are those offered the same slim size as the JL subs in the stealthbox? I just want something that hits the notes and give more bass than the stock sub. Yet at the same time hidden somewhere where it wont eat up my trunk space.

Wow, nice clean, professional looking install; did you do that yourself or have it done? Either way, it looks great.

I recently took out my old custom subwoofer box to reclaim some trunk space. I have the box and all the finishing pieces that are covered in black vinyl. The box has aluminum trim on the front. I'm looking to get around $200 for all of it.

This might be more your thing... I had a buddy of mine (diff car) build a small box out of mainly fiberglass that fit inside his spare tire. Sounds great for a very cheap and easy design... space you won't even miss.

I dont' remember exactly how he did it, but fiberglassed inside the spare tire rim (used something to keep it from sticking)... let it setup... then glass a board cut for your speaker to the top, level with your trunk floor.
