I have just decided I need to update the sound quality of the stock system. i am thinking of installing a cleansweep. Has anyone completed an install of this? Did you do it yourself? Could you offer installation instructions? IS it worth it?

what are your plans? If you are just putting in a sub you don't need a cleansweep.

I'm thinking of doing the same, changing door speakers, perhaps an amp. I was told CleanSweep was required due to equalization of the Bose amp (which you have to retain if you want your phone, NAV, etc to work). I contacted JL Audio and am supposed to call Tech Support back in the morning...so far it appears that they will be helpful.

I'd be interested in your plans to update the system in the M

If you are replacing the drivers, then yeah, the cleansweep is needed. I talked to JL allot about my 04 M45. Just to add an amp, it's not needed.

JL is pretty helpful. They even sent me the bose wiring diagram.

I was just going to install it to improve the current sound quality. I was only going to add the AUX input for my ipod (rather than the tape deck), but was not planning on any other updates at this time.

Is the 170 bucks not worth it for if I am keeping it stock aside from that? I thought this would improve the stock sound drastically that is why i was thinking about it.

Ill turn my email on. I'm not pinoy, but my wife is. She used to call me manok when we were dating. I just got back from there actually, month in cebu, boracay, zamboanga(wifes home town) and bohol. Was awesome as usual. I was deployed over there when I was on active duty in 2002 and have been back every year since. Just bought some land to build a house on when I retire in ten years from the military.

does anyone have any comment as to if this will improve the stock stereo drastically enough to make it work 180 bucks and my time?

I have no plans to upgrade any components at this time.

It will help improve base response as you will not be penalized by the Bose equalization curve. If you don't want it you could simply add the sub/amp combo and make sure you adjust the gains properly and maybe have a remote-wired gain "knob" (or whatever it's called, it's been a long day) for the amp to help increase sub gain as needed.

Do you have any idea on the install for it? Normally, in all the stereos I have done...there has been a head unit (receiver) that has all of the speaker wires go to it. Does this nav/screen/stereo combo have a "receiver" type box somewhere in the dash that has all of the wires go to it for the spearkers? I would assume so ...but where? Also, the cleansweep will require cutting between the speaker wires before the receiiver to install between.

I am almost positive that everything is located in the trunk under the passenger side rear deck. That is where all the audio (bose amp) is in our car. The clean sweep will make things sound better, but I wouldn't recommend spending that money unless your planning on upgrading speakers and adding amps.
