I just found this JL audio clean sweep

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/prod...id=94

I have a crappy cd player but don't really want to invest in something that will entice someone to smash my window. I fugure i will buy this cleansweep and hook it up to a microsoft zune, get rid of the cd player cuz i never use it for cds anyway.

System: Microsoft Zune or ipod with a car kit. The both have radio tuners and have car port variants. Then hook it up to the cleansweep which will give good levels to the speakers and can hookit up to a sub still. What do you guys think?

I would also like to know if anyone has dealt with it and is it a good product. I hope maybe some of you here are audiophiles or work in a car audio shop.

I've dealt with the cleansweep

It's awesome. It completely defeats all EQing from factory or aftermarket HUs. It gives you higher voltage preamp outputs then most HUs have.

awesome. You convinced me. You think it a good idea to not run a headunit and just use the zune or ipod as radio and music player?

Only if you NEVER listen to the radio

Well both the zune and ipod have radio tuners and car kits. I just don't want beeches breaking into my **** to steal anything so i have the goal of making my car look like it doesn't have anything to steal. I can just take the mp3 player with me when i leave. Make a tray for like gum and stuff where radio usually sits.

Hey PoormanQ45, I've heard that the cleansweep has to be turned on and reinitialized every time you turn on the HU? Whats the difference between JL's cleansweep and Audio Controls DQL-8?

Haven't ever had that happened.

The cleansweep should be setup to turn on with the HU just like an amplifier.

Not sure. I've never used the DQL-8
