Ok, I'm ticked. Just purchased a JL 450/4 amp to be mated with my MB Quart Comps. Well For about 20 min I was in Audio heaven then I heard a loud pop. Smelled something burning and turned off my HU. Turns out my front right speaker is burnt to a crisp. Unhooked all speaker cables from my amp and tested each channel with a spare speaker. Saved channel 2 on my amp for last as that's the front right. As soon as I plugged in my spare (cheap thank God) into channel 2, smoked instantly. Tested and it was putting out 38 volts of DC current, all others about 7 or so mv.

This sucks!

Anyway, just wanted to vent.

That sucks. Hope you didn't buy it from an online retailer because JL won't warranty it if you did.

Whoa, didn't see that one coming. I figured it would go something along the lines of turning up the volume too much on stock speakers.

Yeah that sucks, you were just unlucky. That is really rare for a JL or any other decent amp for that matter.
