As if we needed another reason to avoid these shops. If I was the owner of that car, my next ride would be a Mercedes.

LOL no kidding... At least he and his daughter weren't inside. I don't think I've ever been to a Jiffy Lube, and probably now will not ever go. :tisk:

I don't mind quick lube shops because it's easy to stand there and watch.

I worry more about shops and dealerships without a large window to the service bay.

I'm glad they're paying for his rental car while the mess gets sorted. Dealers have done far worse while denying fault.

Our Jiffy Lubes have so many disclaimers, they basically tell you they aren't responsible for anything they do. They left a screwdriver on the edge of the engine bay and closed my hood over it, bending the hinge. I told them about it and showed them their tool and my odd looking hood. They offered me a $10 off my next oil change coupon. The same one I download and use every time I get an oil change anyway. The hinge was cheap and I got it on myself, but I was pretty disappointed by their failure to take responsibility for their actions. I'm very happy to read that this guy got treated much better, although his issue is that much worse. Final note: I still go to Jiffy Lube, I'm just a bit grumpier about it and I watch them closer. Last I looked they were actually cheaper than changing my own oil!

Hey, at least they "lube" but they still aim for penetration. Somebody would be buying me a brand new truck.
