im in the market for some top of the line coilovers and here are the ones i am currently considering for my S13 hatch

JIC FLT-A2Zeal B2HKS Hipermax II

if any of you guys own these kits please give me some + and -

i know that the HKS hipermax has a piston that is separated from the gas/oil chamber which will dampen vibrations and has many other tweaks that allow for both smooth street and on the track performance

while the JIC FLT-A2 is JIC's top of the line coilover - it is 15 way adjustable and has separate ride height adjustability they also use the inverted monotube design for the front and monotube in the back

the Zeal B2's are 6 way adjustable PVS system and a lightweight construction B2 is a middle grade Zeal shock as opposed to the top of the line HKS and JIC coilover systems.

any imput is very much appriciated thanks a lot - hopefully i can come to an educated decision soon -jake

*edit* i cant spell vs. the topic is supposed to be JIC vs Zeal vs HKS

You could have posted this on the suspension forum...I like HKS and my friends and family have had good results with them. Knowing me, I would want to be unique and get something that is away from the main stream, proabably JIC or Zeal. All of them are ver good. Go all out is what i say. Get top of the line and dont take the cheap way out out, athough sometimes it is better, but, be unique and firure in, what you would be doing most, like autox, just for the street and what not, go with what suits your needs. I cangemy minde, go with hks or JIC.

If u want durability go with JIC, If u want style and praise go with HKS, If u want originality go with Zeal. My friend got back from Japan and told me that they were doing a test on suspension. JIC lasted 16,000 miles completly sideways, HKS came in second at 10,000 miles sideways, Trust came in at 7,000 miles sideways.

NO. I mean 16K of complete Drifting. the whole test was to see wich one lasted the longest while drifting. Plus JIC is cheaper. Also my friend said (for some extra advice) that the best sounding exhaust is the sheep dog if u want deep sound then get the sheep dog. its also a low price.

I am probably gonna do tein, but I would LOVE to have HKS. HKS is pretty much an absolute dream company, and I have NEVER heard anything bad (except for one negative remark about an exhaust manifold) HKS. Cnichols has them on his project s14 and it will hopefully be up and running here within a couple weeks. I will give you the low down on the coilovers on his car soon!

WHy not the ZEAL B6? thats the one I would reccomend out of that group...if it was listed. HKS does make nice quality stuff.....but out of that group, Im very preferntial to ZEAl, then HKS...I dont really like JIC..but I dont own(or will own) any of their products myself. I'll be buying either the GP sports or TEIN RS, or CUsco race coilovers.

I think it's b/c so many people buy the cheaper Teins and so few people buy the expensive stuff. Like I've said many times before, I've had the Tein RA's and they were awesome.:)

i picked up the jic flt-a2, they are stiff as s**t... maximum on car adjustability... take notice of your bushings; these coilovers don't mess around... if your bushings are going they will be gone... making all kinds of noises... trust...

this is some good stuff... i tried teins... too soft for me...

JIC FLT-A2 "WARNING: MAY CAUSE BLADDER PROBLEMS"

trust, i been there... haha... speed safely

HKS is extremely nice, but also extremely expensive. Upper end Teins, Zeal, and JIC seem good, but I think the GP sports would probably be pretty good too. I have A'pexi, but just the WS and they are actually surprisingly stiff for a "street comfort" advertised coilover. They have a new series out, and they seem to be an improvement upon the N1.
