Hello all,

I know this is in the wrong section, but I need feedback relatively quickly. Maybe one of the mods can move it to the appropriate section in 8 hours or so.

Ok, so I have the opportunity to get a set of used JIC Magic SF-1 coilovers for about $625 USD. They are in great shape, no rust or anything. The problem with them is the damping is not adjustable. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these, or know anyone that has. I searched but all of the threads that mentioned these coils were pretty old, and noone really gave that much input.

Thanks in advance for any opinions or feedback.

I've never ridden with those specific coils, but general consensus is that JIC makes high quality, well researched equipment, however, you do pay for the quality.

I would be very wary of used coilovers unless you are able to see them in person prior to monetary exchange, especially with the age of these coilovers.

I'll move this thread in a couple hours.

Yeah, they are in great condition. I was bummed out because initially I was told that they were the SA-1 model, which have the adjustable dampening, but these fit well into my price range so I am going to go forward with them anyways. Thanks.

woooo. So I picked up the coils and a set of rear 300zx calipers for $800 CAD. I can't wait to get them on. No more 4x4 for me. I kind of feel stupid lowering it onto my winter rims and tires. Still waiting for my new tires to come in.

My freind was stationed in Japan and had JIC flt on his R32. He told me my Ksports ride way better than his JIC's. I've thought JIC makes good stuff though. mehh

I haven't put them on yet, but I will tomorrow. A common complaint with the JICs is they are toooooo stiff. I will see for myself soon though

First impression is pretty damn good. I need to adjust the rear ones a bit. It is a bit too low and the front is a little too high. The ride is stiff, but not that much harsher than what I had before. I amazed at how much of a difference coils make in the corners. I really need to get my but in gear and replace the rest of my tired suspension components though. All sorts of noises coming from everyone. Maybe once the car settles properly, those will diminish. I will take pictures once I fix the heights a bit.
