just thought i would let everone know about their mounts.i ordered the motor and transmission mounts, so far i have installed the transmission mount and WOW the shifting was good, but now is great, there is a bit more vibration and the engine is a little louder, but much worth italso easy to install, i suspect the motor mounts to be a little tufferthe products came to me quick and for all only 175 bucksthe guy i spoke with when i ordered was very cool, we bs'd for 30 min or so, they are working on a kae turbo 240 (i own a 93 coupe)i will update again once i get the motor mounts installed (will be very soon, its almost time to get the car out of storage!!!!!)and the quality of the mounts are great, very clean and strong looking

and thanks to all who helped with my decision

the motor mounts were a pain at first, but after a little (maybe a lot) of wd40 the bolts came loose. i had a little trouble getting the oil filter off (had to take it off to get to the passenger mount), never again will i use a nissan filter, i couldn't even get a filter wrench to fit on it (had to wrap the filter with duct tape), must be an odd size?

but once installed i realized they were a good purchase, yeah it shakes a bit, but not quite irritating, and a little more low end power was also achieved

How did you get more power out of a motor mount?

I would love to see some pics, or at least a link where you got them from, because im still using the soft OE mounts. What all mods do you have on your car? If you are still mostly stock and you can feel a lot of vibration, im sure my arms and arse would go numb with the loping my engine makes due to the cam.

Definately pics tho.

Yeah I'm in the market for new mounts and I am kind of worried about the Nismo ones raising the engine slightly since I don't want to get rid of my JDM Nissan STB. A link for these mounts would be appreciated.

jgstools.com, then click on precision

they have picks too!

you aren't adding any power, but you are freeing up some, i would say half of what you are freeing up goes to the wheels and the other half you lose through vibrations. as an example open the throttle a bit from the engine bay and you will see the motor move, with stiffer mounts the engine will move less or not at all, with these mounts the engine doesn't move.

i have a fidanza flywheel, clutch specialties clutch built to handle 400 horse (the guy i bought the car from was planning on a turbo). no internal work or anything else yet.

yes you may even get a headache from these mounts and your friends may not want to ride with you, but you are also less likely to snap a downpipe or any part of the exhaust due to flex.

the stock transmission mount was almost comletely torn, but the motor mounts were okay, there is 123 thousand miles on my car.

these mounts do not raise the engine at all (i was also worried about losing my strut bar) i will probably replace it with a better one though cause it is very stressed, as i took it off to make it a litlle easier to get to the mount it moved back a few inches towards the firewall. it may be a universal one, megan racing it is, came with the car

anything else i can help you with let me know!

you have to drill out the engine bracket right? how'd that go? i want the mounts but i thought drilling in a tight spot would be too difficult. they told me to drop the cross member? wont the engine drop as well? i filled my mounts this weekend and was pretty pissed when i reinstalled them(36hrs later) and poly oozed out. i used some liquid nails polyurethane that was supposed to be good outside and dry in 12hrs. anyways i hope theres less pain involved than im assuming.

not recommended but i placed a hydraulic jack with a 2x4 about 18inches long under the oil pan, the 2x4 helped ditribute the weight on the oil pan, be prepared to jack the motor up a little to get mount out and new one in, the motor was right up on the firewall.

as for the bracket, just take it off the motor, it only needs to be drilled out a little bit, i used a dremel and a stone bit

oh and if you go with the transmission mount as well (i recommend it, shifting is awesome!) i was not able to use the stock bracket (bolts were not long enough), everything is fine though, even after millisecond shifts (you know kick and throw), i really don't think you need it anyways

What do you mean you couldnt use the stock transmission mount? You only used the jgs mount? The picture on the jgs site looks like it'll bolt up pretty good.
